I looked but couldn't find the answer to this question
I'm looking at taking another trip to Disney World next fall and this time we're planning on taking my younger sister. We always get the dining plan, because it's completely worth the money and it's so nice to not have to worry about budgeting for food costs. The one problem is my little sister is 14, so technically an adult by Disney dining plan standards. However, at a lot of the nicer restaurants I know there is not a thing on the adult menus that she would eat. I was wondering if it's possible to use an adult TS credit, but order off the children's menu?

We have done this in the past as we have a picky eater and it has never been a problem. When our DS would order off of the kids menu, we would use the adult TS credit, but he would get an adult sized portion of whatever he ordered. Some people feel this is a waste of a DDP credit, but it worked for us and I didn't mind using it that way as it would have otherwise been wasted and not used at all. Another option would be to not use a TS credit for your sister and just pay OOP for a kids meal if you see you can use the credit later on.

Wondering the same...
I have two very picky girls, 13 & 16, who will have a hard time finding something they like on the adult menu and would rather have chicken nuggets. Is there ever a problem ordering (OOP) from the kids menu for children over 9?

OP - 9/10 you won't have a problem. A few people have hit a problem with certain restaurants (I think ones that aren't owned by Disney) but you shouldn't have an issue. Lots of times they'll also give larger portions of the kids meals. |

To the OP, if there are any concerns, I would just ask at the start of the meal (before you order) so there aren't any unfortunate surprises at the end of the meal.
