I think that she is called Duchess in the British media much more often (or just Will and Kate, and I've seen just Kate before). The American media probably uses her maiden name to make the headline more recognizable because most Americans have a casual knowledge of the Royals and knew her by that name first. I rarely ever see her full formal name/title used especially in America.
It's like how they still call some celebs by their maiden name, so they'll be recognized. Or some celebs still work under their maiden name. |

In the topic about them getting married, the whole royal line was discussed. Who's who and what's what.
Here's about 5 pages of confusion. http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2710699 Last edited by SandrA9810; 12-03-2012 at 06:03 PM. |

How exciting! Wonder when she's due. Hope the press doesn't bother them (yeah, right) too much, between now and timing how long it takes her to lose the post-baby weight.

Congrats to them both!
I'd read that she was fewer than 12 weeks along, and I would be royally p.o.'d for a press leak of this info so early in my pregnancy. (yes, pun intended) |

The press release that THEY released said she was less than 12 weeks. It said they wanted to let people know earlier so that it would be less stressful on them! Hopefully the press gives her some time to rest and recover!

They made the announcement themselves. They had no choice once she was sent to the hospital. Otherwise, it would have been rampant speculation and rumor mongering in the press. So they just went ahead and told everyone.

I'm guessing they released it now because she is in the hospital.

All the Commonwealth countries including Canada to pass an Act of Parliament to amend the gender succession order. I do not believe this has yet to be done but is in the process.
