So just look for a large group with Mickey Medals? Do I just sidle up and whisper, "excuse, me are you from the WISH board?"

You win! I get teased for being a planner but I have nothing like that! I love that you have your drinking points on there. I'll have to print it out so I can catch up with you guys on Monday. Yes, I'll be stalking you. Unless you don't want me to. Then I won't do it. I'm not a very good stalker. I ask for permission.

Duh! If you were married you'd be making fun of her.

So how many days of parks are you guys doing? I decided to just do 1 day and get a hopper pass so I can at least spend a bit of time at the new fantasyland before heading to Epcot for the late afternoon/evening.

PRMami, I'm impressed you're doing a park the day before the marathon. Go you! We get in Friday evening so Saturday will be our Expo day, early dinner at Downtown Disney and early to bed. I was hoping to fit in a park on Sunday but I don't think that's going to happen.

Last year, we spent 7 nights around Marathon Weekend and literally rode less than 10 rides...and had a wonderful time!

Oh and count us in for DATW...I have made shirts!
I want to see a picture of the DATW shirt!

I'm getting pretty excited for our trip too! I've been to WDW a few times during MW but have never competed in it. Can't wait!!
In the winter I always run at night, and last year did my weekend runs at 3 in the morning! So, running in the dark prepared for I am. I wear all reflective clothing (I've been told when light hits me I light up like a Christmas tree). Plus I wear a headlamp with pivoting head (to see in front of me) and the all important orange vest. If you can't see me...you shouldn't be driving!

Glad to see you'll be competing this year instead of just watching!

I'm cracking up at this because what happens if you get someone who's easily scared or offended? LOL

We're trying to take advantage because my mom, sis, niece and nephew are SUPPOSED to be coming with us. I swear if they don't come and leave me with an extra SSR studio, I'll kill them.

I think I read on the PHM board that someone didn't have trouble falling asleep because they wore themselves out at a park the day before. While I'm not going to go crazy, HS closes at only 7 so I figure I should be tired and relaxed enough to be in bed by 9. If my mom does make it, I'm hoping she can take the kids to DTD so DH and I can have some peace and quiet for a bit.

I'm hoping I don't feel the way I did after the PHM. I remember practically falling asleep in the Sci-Fi Dine-In that night. I want to take a picture at MK with Mickey wearing our medals and then after dinner at 'Ohana, head back into the park to party.

Well, on Sunday I plan to do all four! Sorry couldn't help myself.

DS and I are in for quick weekend and are only going to AK on Saturday.

One pair will be 'done' by WDW Weekend, so buying a new pair now will ensure I have two decent pair for race weekend.

So just a reminder that everyone should check their shoes now and see where things stand. If you have to pick up a new pair now, you have plenty of time to get them 'broken in' for your Disney races.
Good reminder. I've been having pain in the ball of my foot for a while now, and it only just occurred to me to look at my shoes.
The only wear I can see on them is at the ball of my foot. Big surprise.

I like my shoes a lot (Nike Structure 15), but they've been discontinued. My local Running Room found a pair at a nearby store - for full price, same price as the newer Structure 16s. $154. Ouch. It's about $50 more than I paid for them when I bought them in February, but when you need shoes, you need shoes.

I'd have tried out the 16s, but the store won't accept returns/exchanges on shoes that have been used outdoors and I don't have access to a treadmill. Bummer.

I also found 2 pairs of the 15s at the Fleet Feet in Buffalo for $69 but I can't really see myself driving and hour and a half each way to get them. Argh.

Don't forget you are doing the Petty Driving (err running) Experience, also!

Kyle Petty ran Disney a couple years.

Can you call the store and pay with a cc and have them shipped to you?

Check RunningWarehouse.com. They carry older models sometimes too.

Does anyone here use a Trent or Mophie battery case for their iPhone? I use Nike+ while running (I LOVE the applause) and I'm afraid it will die out before 6 hours. Since my whole family has pledged to cheer me on virtually during every mile of the marathon, I need a battery case. I want to know which case is better, how long does the battery last with heavy Internet, GPS use, etc.?

Thanks!

Stress fracture confirmed.

My DH has a stress fracture in his tibia. He has not been running for 3 weeks or so. He has another appointment with the sports med doc at the end of December. That will be after about 6 weeks off of running. Of course we have to see what it looks like at that time and what his doctor says but do you think it will be possible for him to participate in the marathon?

He's been cycling and may start swimming or water running. He has permission to do those activities. But only allowed minimal walking. He's been a strong runner with a sub 2 hour half marathon time. His longest run was 15 miles about 5 weeks ago and has done 2 of those in training this past fall before the injury. Any chance he could walk or run/walk the marathon with the goal just to finish? Maybe get to the 13.1 mile marker at least? I have no idea what it takes to safely come back to running after an injury like this one.
