Also- it was an expensive trip to the running store. They have Nike+ watches on sale. I have convinced myself the pacing with GPS will be helpful. ;-)

Ok...what does everyone eat for dinner before a big race? I mean, I know what should eat, etc, just wondering if anyone has any fun traditions!

The traditional pasta...better stay with something safe than try something new...morning of race the normal bannana , bran muffin and coffee...so boring....but it does the job.

My boys won't be happy about that - they run 1500 for cross country but also run lots of 1 milers & 5K's. One does a 25 minute 5K, they're competitive & hate when the parents get in the way. So, are there any awards given who finished first? Those are usually based on gun time at races around here. Is there a reason they need to be the front of the starting line other than to get out ahead of a 5 y/o and her mommy & daddy?

Generally, something light. It may or may not be pasta. If we eat out, we are usually eating around the white haired time zone - 3-4 pm. This is especially true for Disney where buses to the race start running at midnight PST.

Couple quick questions for those who may know:
1) Can you get salt tablets at the expo? I too am a heavy sweater, have not used them before but would rather have some "just in case". My coach will be with me, I know he has used them before. 2) Anyone know TSA regs on powders? I use Cytomax (Powerade/Gatorade = GI issues) and I have the HUGE tub of powder. Was planning to put what I needed into a zip bag and take it in my carry on, but curious if it will be an issue. So excited, only 2 more wake ups and we are on the plane!! |
