Stuck on Which Resort to choose
Hi all,
So I've been following these boards for a while as I'm an trying to get our first trip to the World planned. I thought I had figured out where we were going to stay until yesterday...sigh. So t first I thought we would stay at AoA as we are a family of 5 with a teen. Need the extra bed, ya know?! N then after reading and researching, I had settled on the bC possibly renting points for BCV. BUT then the inevitable happened...there's no food court!! This may sound menial but I have a family of breakfast eaters. They like to eat a good, filling breakfast then snack throughout the day. Grabbing a breakfast sandwich on the way just will not cut it. An I know DH will be miserable without his breakfast. So can anyone give another good recommendation? Decent sized room for 5, nice pool/slide area and a CS/food court? Thank so much! |

Depends on how old the other 2 kids are. We like POR, we are also a fam if 5 with A 16 yo. Great foodcourt, pool/slide. We have a 5 yo that sleeps on the Murphy bed.

If you are thinking about renting points look in a 1-bdrm at AKL.
Jambo House has Boma which has the breakfast buffet and also Mara which has quick service breakast. You can also use the pool at Kidani which is amazing.

a one-bedroom at BCV will give you a kitchen, so you can prepare a full breakfast each morning. While I love to have a good sit-down breakfast at a nice restaurant, I find we can really only do that on non-park days. Sit-down breakfasts just eat up so much of the mornning.

Vote AoA
I vote AoA because the suite has two bathrooms and has an excellent food court. We really enjoyed the Lion King suite in October. The pools are nice and three beds in the suite are all comfortable. My favorite was actually the sleeper sofa with a memory foam matress. But having a queen bed in the bedroom (complete with a bedroom door!) was very nice. Master Bathroom is also a nice size.
My younger kids went crazy for the fold down Murphey bed. They could not wait to get it setup every night when we got back to the room. Plus, the kitchenette proved to be great to make coffee and tea in the morning. Can you tell I am a fan? |

I too tend to lean toward AofA. I think you will have plenty of room and as it is your first visit, I assume you will spend most of your time in the parks. The food court is more than adequate. Easy to navigate and plenty of room in the dining area. I think if you start with a value you will be pleased when you go back and are able to stay in a mod or deluxe/villa. In my opinion, you might be disappointed if you stay deluxe for your first time and then later on have to stay in a value. The values are great, but mods and deluxes/villas really are a step up. Whatever you decide your family will have a great time at Disney.

I'm also a fan of AoA! The suites are a nice size and two full bathrooms makes a huge difference! The food court has a lot of full breakfast options that your family will probably appreciate. Plus, the theming and pools are really awesome and helped to make the Disney experience extra special.

Awesome! Thanks for the suggestions. Now I have another Disney avenue to explore and who doesn't love that!
