I think this Starbucks topic has well and truly gone around in a million circles and gone no where. :lol: Time will tell how this all turns out. Until we get more information from Disney or it officially opens, everything else has (more than likely) already been said. WDW will still be the most magical place on earth, especially for the true fans.

I love this thread. It's everything the DIS is, and more. People are putting down Starbucks because it's a huge, greedy corporation. They are worried that Starbucks will ruin Main Street U.S.A.

I know it's been said here a hundred times, but there are dozens of corporate sponsors throughout all the Disney parks. So what if a Starbucks logo is visible at the bakery. It won't be a distraction. All you people go to Disney all the time. Don't you think they have a clue as to what they are doing? Is there anything wrong with an Edy's logo flanking both sides of the ice cream parlor entrance? Nobody is losing their minds over that.

And speaking of greedy corporations. Ever here of The Walt Disney Company? If Starbucks is greedy, then what do you call Disney. They shouldn't get a pass just because you really don't know much about either company.

This topic has done what the DIS does best. It's given a bunch of people a forum to complain about nothing. And with all of the arguing, attacks, sarcasm and other violations of posting guidelines, I can only assume somebody is on holiday. Hope it's permanent.

I posted this on another thread but...Without getting into the debate on MSB versus SB - I will say that I often defend SB. While pricey (although not that much more than other coffee shops):

1. They provide PT employees with full health insurance benefits and stock options (http://money.cnn.com/magazines/fortu...pshots/73.html)

and

2. They are starting to manufacture products in the U.S. as opposed to shipping jobs overseas - including building a plant for products that used to be made overseas: http://news.starbucks.com/article_di...article_id=679. and http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/0...n_1588972.html

I will pay more for coffee for employees to get health benefits and Made in the U.S.A products!

Isn't the Bakery currently hosted by Nestle? Personally, I'd rather support an American company (also one that doesn't have such a tainted history).

The guy that started Starbucks graduated from Northern Michigan University. From what I understand, they offer their employees benefits even though their part time. Companies like Costco and Starbucks that don't feel they need to put every cent of profit into their own pocket deserve our loyalty.

Howard Shultz made Starbucks the great company it is today, with the help of some other great people. But he did not start the company. He worked for the original owners for a short time. They weren't interested in lattes, mochas, etc. So Howard left the company and started his own called Il Giornale (also in Seattle). After the success of his company, Shultz put together a group of investors, who purchased Starbucks from the original owners.

I have managed Starbucks stores AND Disney Stores. When it comes to great companies, there's no question. Starbucks wins, hands down. It disappoints me to read all this anti-Starbucks crap on these boards, from people who truly have no clue what they're talking about. Disney Guests should embrace a partnership that brings a great products into the parks.

Thank you for the corrections. We do agree that if people started standing up for and applauding companies that put their workers before greed, things could maybe get better for other companies employees.

YAY!!! I've been a partener for 7 years, and Starbucks is a great company to work for!! We do a lot for communities in need here and globally. I am proud to be a partner and look forward to the SBUX in MK :D

This. Nestle is like making a deal with the devil in my opinion. I would much rather have Starbucks, an American company that gives its workers benefits I don't even drink coffee, but hello Tazo chai tea latte, nice to see you on Main Street
