How to make 12 " borders
Quick question for all the ladies around here. What do you use to make 12" borders? I have Scal and cricut but can't cut a real 12" border since the mat is 12X12. What do you all use? I was thinking of investing either on a cuttlebug or a spellbinder but they are expensive and I'm not sure that I want to spend that kind of money for scrapbooking.
If you have one, do you like it?

You can do it with a 12x24 mat. Or, if you put it at an angle, sometimes you can get a true 12 inch border on a 12x12 mat. You can trick your machine into thinking you have a 12x24 mat in there too.
Another option is to use border punches? |

I cut 6 inch borders and piece them. Most of the border thingies like on the Mickey & friends cart cut 4 inch borders so you have to piece them together.
If I want a 'surround', I use the bigger templates in the creative memories cutting system. Or border punches. Or strips. or an assorted embelli 'assemblage'. Or pen lines.

I broke down and bought the 12x24 mat. It just makes it easier to cut multiples.
