Hi,
My family and I are staying at OKW for the first time. I was wondering if there was any designated fishing areas or fishing holes like at POR.Thanks! |

Rules may have changed, so I'd check with the front desk. It used to be that you could catch and release almost anywhere at OKW...but I haven't heard anything about fishing at OKW recently.

Depends on who you ask! We asked and were told no on two seperate occasions, but upon seeing others fishing, we were then encouraged to do so by other CM's! I don't know if there is an actual rule regarding fishing, by the same token, ask a 3 CM's the same question and you may get 3 different answers.
Go ahead and enjoy!

(This is 3 years ago)...as you enter OKW and pass thru the 4-way stop heading toward Peninsular Pond drop off. The right side ( golf course side) of the curved bridge you pass right before that stop allows fishing from the bank.
Sitting at OKW right now on vacation off Turtle Pond watching the golfers play thru :-D Sent from my iPod touch using DISBoards

My DS16 and DS14 fish at OKW all the time. They like it better than Fort Wilderness. Like MySecondHome stated, you can fish to the right of the first bridge. Just make sure to stay off of the golf course.

When you cross the first bridge after the 4-way stop, the boats are docked to the left. You can fish in the pond to the right. You cannot fish where the boats are docked or from the banks of the golf course.

Can you rent fishing equipment or do you have to bring your own?

wendy welcher - I'm going to bring a couple telescoping rods to OKW for my kids. You can rent cane poles by the 1/2 hr. at the Fishin' Hole at POR.
