Operation Classy Living: GFLO Oct 2012  Welcome my friends, to the most spirited season of them allI am your host, your ghost-host The nine-hundred-ninety-nine happy haunts and I are ready to materialize For a spooktacular celebration You never know who will drop in After all, this is Halloween! The yolo-ers are back and taking over disney!  The whos: Sam  Hello there! I’m Sam and I will be your tour guide on this ever so classy trip report. I’m 20 going on 5 and a complete Disney nerd. I’m a childhood education major who dreams of working at Bibbidi Bobbiddi Boutique. When I’m not in Disney I am planning disney trips. Favorite Theme Park: Magic Kingdom Favorite Meal of the Trip: Le Cellier Favorite Snack of the Trip: School Bread Favorite Ride: Space Mountain Favorite Disney Characters: Tiana/woody Brittany  She shares the same love for Disney. We pretty much live the same life 20 years old, childhood education major, dancer, and believes in the magic of Disney. This is our second trip to the world together and definitely not the last! Favorite Theme Park: Magic Kingdom Favorite Meal of the Trip: Ohana Favorite Snack of the Trip: Cinnamon roll Favorite Ride: tour of terror Favorite Disney Characters: Belle Alicia  This trip is brought to you by her, there would have been no operation classy living without her. She is currently a cast member working in the costume shop at the magic kingdom. Its always a good time when Alicia is around! Favorite Theme Park: MGM Favorite Meal of the Trip: San Angel Inn Favorite Snacks of the Trip: Mickey Premium Bar Favorite Ride: Tower of Terror Favorite Disney Characters: Rapunzel/Pluto/Minnie Mouse Andy  Andy is alicia’s fiancé and has been forced into the Disney scene. He decided to join us on this trip after our yolo trip in May. After being away from Alicia for 2 months is was a nice little reunion for both of them. Favorite Meal of the Trip: Peco’s Bills Favorite Snack of the Trip: Popcorn Favorite Ride: Toy Story Mania Favorite Disney Characters: Donald Duck Chelsea  She goes to school with me and Brittany. She has been to Disney a few times with her family but not a hardcore fan like the rest of us. She was all for going on this trip and it was definitely an experience with her! Favorite Theme Park: Magic Kingdom Favorite Meal of the Trip: Liberty Tree Tavern Favorite Snack of the Trip: Mickey Premium Bar Favorite Ride: Splash Mountain Favorite Disney Characters: Cannot decide When: October 3 – October 8 Where: Disney world! Staying at the classiest resort on property the Gflo aka Grand Floridian  Why: This trip was planned in September 2011. It started when Alicia asked me to do the dcp with her. I talked Brittany into doing it and went to the dcp meeting at Niagara University. Sadly because our tight school schedule we were unable to apply for Fall 2012. So instead we planned a trip to visit Alicia and go to Mickey’s not so scary Halloween party! And will have to wait till Fall 2014 to do the dcp. Last edited by xoSamma; 02-20-2013 at 07:46 PM. |

The day before consisted of going to classes to get an education and let me tell you my mind was not up for learning. It was all for thinking about Disney! When I got home I was running around like a mad person making sure I had everything I needed. Once I finished packing I did my nails festive while I waited for Brittany to come over.  Brittany arrived around 9pm with her big suitcase that could hold enough for a family of four. That being said it was over weight and being a nice friend I put some of her stuff in my suitcase.  Andy arrived shortly after but staid in the back room and called it a night. While waiting for Chelsea to arrive Brittany decided to try on her halloween costume.   After all the fun and excitement over the halloween costume we decided to get down to business and made a scavenger hunt we could do when we were down there. Lets just say it didn't work all that well! Chelsea ended up arriving at around 11pm. We got settled down and called it a night.  I was way to excited to sleep, DISNEY WORLD tomorrow! Brittany and me ended up talking till the wee hours of the morning, which was probably not a good idea since we had to be up bright and early. DISNEY TOMORROW MORNING!  3:45am comes early! |

Yeah!!! Looking forward to following along.
We had the honor of meeting Alicia and having dinner with her one evening last month while we were at WDW. Can't wait to read your trip report after having followed along with Alicia's tweets during the recent adventure.

At 3:30am SpectroMagic was going off, time to wake up!
Just kidding hit that snooze button, SpectroMagic played once again at 3:45  We all got up and got ready for our adventure. My father was kind enough to take us to the airport on his way to work. We all crammed into the car and headed to the airport at 4:30 We checked our bags and went threw security, where I was asked how old I was. Um 20, forever a child!  Once we got threw security we waited at the gate for a good 40 mins. I watched bosox2001 videos on youtube because they are my favorite disney videos to watch & I'm in love with that family, Brittany caught up on Greys & some sleep  And Andy was ready to be in Orlando  After a long wait we finally boarded, Chelsea didn't end up sitting near us because she purchased her ticket separately. Me Brittany and Andy sat near the back of the plane and let me tell you it smelled like poopy diapers. Didn’t we leave the daycare for a week? Gross  We arrived late to JFK, which made us almost late for our connecting flight to Orlando. There was a family who sat behind us who were also going to Disney and was freaking out thinking they were going to miss the connecting flight. The father booked it to the other gate once he got off the plane, while running his daughter took a major wipe out, but he was still running and didn't realize he was missing a child. Really?!  Well we all made it onto the flight with time to spare, no need to lose a child. This flight consisted of ma and Brittany getting all our homework done. No homework in Disney! The good thing was our flight landed early which meant we arrived earlier than planned!  We took the ever so classy Magical Express to the Classiest Resort on property  We were lucky enough to be in line first which meant front row on the Magical Express!!!   On our way there Alicia was texting me asking if I would be able to capture the moment on video of her attacking andy when we arrived. And of course I did (I just have to start getting on making the video) We soon went under the beautiful arch  Which I tweeted: I’m Home!!! Then we found ourselves at another beautiful site. Although it was in the works of being changed to blue.  The first stop was Wilderness Lodge, my dream resort! So beautiful My parents staid there when they visited Alicia in September, so jealous The second stop was the contemporary and then the Polynesian. I was ready to get off the bus when we stopped here. I remember texting Alicia how sad I was that we were not staying there. Just means we have to stay there next time The last stop was the GLFO! Our home for the next 6 days   |

So cute how Andy is just anxiously waiting to get on that plane to see her!! Love itLOVE G-flo. We stayed their for our honeymoon this past September. Gorgeous!! Looking forward to reading along!!

Great start! I am so jealous y'all are staying at the GF! I can't wait until they finish the DVC resort so DW and I can use our points there. C'mon now...post more updates...don't keep your readers waiting.

Hey Sam, Great update. Eww, that sucks you had to sit in the smelly section of the plane.

Oh the Grand Floridian what a beautiful place. At first I was not up for staying here because I believed it was a place for snobs, not the case.
When we pulled in I could not believe that we were going to call this place home. We got off the Magical Express so fast and made our way inside. We didn’t even get into the lobby when Alicia decided to attack Andrew. How precious Alicia was kind enough to check us in and check out the room before we arrived. She led us to our room while we all took in the beauty  Our room was located in Sago Cay, the building location was wonderful a nice short walk to the bus stop and the main building. Plus you had a perfect view of the castle! Our room was located on the third floor, the elevators were also very classy! We reached our room and I was excited to see that we got the new key to the world cards and the knew doors where you just tap your key on the door to unlock it.  When you first walk in there is a small hallway  to the left was the closest that had the safe and some classy robes  To the right was the bathroom area  onto the bedroom, so much more room than the allstars!    Our porch and view   Once we took in the beauty of the room we decided to go exploring and get our refillable mugs. We got lost on the way  The quick service was changed to Mizner's Lounge in the main building. While making our way there I spotted Miss Lynn. For those of you who might not know her here is her story Miss Lynn hangs out in the lobby of the grand Floridian with her teddy bears. In earlier years her and her husband would hand out teddy bears to children at the Grand Floridian. Her sister has said that the Grand Floridian was her and her late husbands favorite spot. They would both visit together and enjoy the music. Lynn is very well known to the cast members and enjoys making conversation with them. Anyways once we got our mugs we went back to the room to get ready to get to the parks! |
