LadyB Creations**On Break - Computer Issues, Please read Post #893**

Hello,
Welcome to my Design Thread! I am new to designing. I caught the bug while making magnets for my recent cruise.
Since I am new to designing I am still building my clipart and idea library. If you see a fill or sign in my files that you like but want a different character please let me know. Please see my photo bucket for all the samples I currently have on file. Please give me at least 1 month for designs. You can post last minute requests but please note that I might not have time to get to them.

***Update***
I am not sure when I will be returning. It might be later than June 1st but I will keep you updated. As some of you know my lap top died in Feb, it was something with the motherboard and it would not boot all the way. I started using my PC but today it died It won't turn on at all, I got a BSOD and then tried to reboot and it won't turn on all the way. I can't even get to safe mode which would be good because then I could at least save my work. I had this issue before with it and it was the video card but it would at least turn on for a time. I feel like I am computer killer as it has happened twice in a short amount of time. The PC is probably 8 years old and the laptop was 6 or 7 so I guess it is time to upgrade but I am so sad about the PC because I lost all my new items I had been working on and a lot my photos from the last 8 years . You would think I would have learned from the laptop and did a back up more often
Anyway my new laptop should be arrive soon, I have ordered the newest version of Paint Shop Pro so I will have to learn how it works.
The good news is we are almost done with budget at work

**If you have not picked up your completed items please do so ASAP as I will be deleting them soon. My space limit with Photobucket is almost maxed and I will not have the items saved since my computers are dead.**

If you read my whole rant thanks for listening and I hope to be back in action soon!******

Request Instructions and Other Info:
If you are new to the DISign board please check out this post before requesting designs:
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2430262

When requesting a design please give me the following information:
1. File Name of the sample from my photo bucket or post a link of the sample or list a detailed description.
2. Names, Dates, Color, Font or any other information you would like on the design. All info must be in your original request. It is time consuming to change things after the design is completed.
3. Character you want on the design if different than the sample, if you want me to use a specific clip art please post a picture of it in your request.
4. Date you need items by.

I am willing to try new things, just ask
Please do not ask me to edit any other designers items.

**After you pick up your items please post a reply to let me know. Also be sure to preview all items before printing as I am human and can error especially when up late at night
*** After you complete your T-shirts, magnets etc, I would love to see a picture of the completed items. You can post it here on my thread.

When your design is finished I will post it on my thread. You will need to download it and print it. If the photo bucket link is broken please ask me to repost your items, I sometimes move things around in photo bucket and that breaks the link.
**Please note that due to Photbucket and my PC space issues I am going to start deleting items from my completed file on Photobucket and my PC. You have one month from the time I post your completed items to pick them up. Please be sure to check here often for your Disigns and please pick them up so I do not have to create them again as this will take time and you might not have them for your trip.**

If the picture is a thumbnail, you need to click on that. It will take you to the photo hosting site.
Once you are there, find the options drop down menu (Photo bucket) and download the full size image to your computer, if you do not download the full size the image will appear grainy when printing. Save the design to your computer. I recommend making a folder on your desktop so they are easy to find when you need them.

When printing, always be sure to select the highest quality print option or photo printing. This is found under preferences when the print box pops up.

You can print your designs in several ways:
To Print from Paint:
Open a copy in Paint and print it from there, be sure to use print preview and make any adjustments if it does not fill the page as desired.
Click on file, page setup and you will be able to make your design portrait or landscape. You can also set margins.

To make your design fit on one page use the scaling option and choose fit to a 1 x 1 page

To have a little more flexibility in working with the design you can insert the image into a Word Document

To insert an image into Word:
From the toolbar select insert, then picture

From file: Use the file browser to locate your file
Choose the file and then click insert
To change the size of a photo in word

You can then right click on the picture and choose format picture then click on the size tab
and choose the dimensions you want the file to be (make sure your margins are set as small as possible)
or
click on the image and place your arrow over one of the corner guides when it become a two way arrow,
click on it and drag the arrow to the size you want the photo to be
(make sure you use a corner guide the middle guides will change the aspect ratio)

T-shirt Transfers- Mirror Images:

To make a mirror image in paint (for t-shirt transfers):
Press Ctrl+R this will bring up the flip/rotate dialogue window
Choose flip horizontal and then click on okay this should give you a mirror image of your design

To make a mirror image in Word:
This will be done in the printer options how to do this will vary by printer
Choose File
Print
and then Properties
there is probably a layout feature that will have a mirror image option choose this option and then print

Not all printers can do this if not you will have to first reverse the image in paint (see directions above)

I have never made a T-shirt but you can find instructions to make a T-shirt here (post 13):
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2430262

Making Magnets:
You can purchase magnet paper from Staples, Walmart, Office Max, etc. I personally did not like the magnet paper (I used it for the stateroom portal ears and my magnets kept falling off the door) but it is up to you. If you buy the high gloss paper be sure to use the high gloss setting when printing or the ink will rub off.
You can print your magnets on cardstock (laminating optional but not necessary) cut out and then mount with magnet strips or sheets.
You can print your magnets on regular paper, laminate and then mount with magnet strips or sheets. If you use regular paper you will need to laminate or the magnets will not last long.

Samples of my work are below. Please see my photo bucket link in my signature for everything I have done so far. Be sure to look at the sub albums too. If you have something in mind that you do not see please ask and I will try to make it for you. If it is beyond my ability I will let you know. The Completed Items folder is where I usually store a completed request unless it is a new design, I file those by theme. Name Fills get filed under name fills so that others can locate their own names quickly.

1. Mickey Heads
Samples:

2. Cruise Items
Samples:

3. Name Fills
Samples:

4. Misc Signs
Samples:

5. Street Signs
When requesting a Street Sign please give me the following information:
1. Name to use (first, last or other like Pirate or Princess)
2. List what street type to use (St, Ave, DR, Blvd or Lane)
3. Character you would like me to use or name of the street sign sample in my photo bucket.
4. Name of place to put in the Mickey Head (Disneyland, Disneyworld, Cruise ship name etc). If you do not put a place I will leave it blank.
I will use the Walt font or another font that I think fits the theme of the Street Sign.
Samples:

Thanks!

Looks like you have been very busy! They look great!

Beware though, that designing is very addicting (as you probably already know). We all joke that we need to start a support group around here. Welcome to the DISign world!

Yea!! I want some please!

These are so cute! I would love if you could make me some names. I love the mickey one that you showed in the first post. I saw in your file that you also do one with Minnie. Is it possible to have the Minnie one outlined in red like the Mickey one is?

I need the Mickey one with the names:

Louie
Dominic
Matthew
Jakson

The Minnie ones with:
Julia
Maddie

Thank you so much and congrats on starting your designs!! I am sure you will be very busy!
