Pop was great - don't let the negative reviews stress you out!
After reading all the poor reviews of Pop on this board, I was stressing about booking a value resort in the first place for my trip last week. I grew up in a DVC family and have only ever stayed at our home resort of Old Key West.
When we arrived early, the front desk was happy to find us attached rooms that were ready and available for early check-in without even having to ask. It took a few extra minutes at check-in but they were so helpful. In fact, all the staff members we encountered were great! We booked a standard room and ended up on the 2nd floor of the green 70's building close to the big wheel. I thought this was a great location and enjoyed a pretty short walk to the main building and bus stops. Yes, the rooms were a bit dated and used but THEY WERE CLEAN! I mean, really, what do you expect for the lower prices.. the Ritz? I was so nervous that we were going to be miserable but it was quite the opposite. We received a spotless pack 'n play for my daughter along with plenty of clean sheets. Mousekeeping kept everything picked up and changed our linens often bringing plenty of extra towels. We had an overall GREAT experience. Don't let all the negative reviews stress you out if you haven't been to POP before. It's definitely not the fanciest place in WDW but, in my experience, it was clean and livable for a week. Have fun! |

). ...if it was 4452, no it was not preferred. Were you facing the lake and in the playdoh bldg? If you were in 5452 (baloo bldg), then the room is preferred (facing the ourtyard between 60s and 70s). ![]() Just didn't want you to be bummed out if you really did get what you paid for.

Hopefully she did get a preferred room - it's never a nice feelilng when you realize after the fact that you were not given something that you paid for.

I looked up my room # again and it was 4225. Definitely got a preferred room. So sorry for the mix up. I still think I'll go for the standard room this time around. MNSSHP here we come! Now back to my regularly scheduled lurking!

How deep are the pools? In particular, the main pool? In the pictures it almost looks like a kiddie pool, really shallow..

Here now, arrived last night. I'm in the 70's bldg. 1. I like the location, but the
tour group kids were hanging out by the end of the bldg. socializing at 3am! Had to get up to put earplugs in and that took care of the issue. ![]() Didn't eat at the food court yet, but the options look very good. I'm really enjoying the Pop, and will be booking again for May.

I believe it's 4' 9" and they start at 3' and gradually get deeper.

There were some college cheer/dance groups at WDW over MLK weekend but they are gone. They were great ... not sure what resorts they were at. The groups that I have been seeing all month are foreign .... appear to be mostly from Central or South America. Some groups seem to be families and others are all teenagers. Haven't had any problems.
