Ahhhh, SO excited to be headed HOME in 13 days! I have been subbed to this thread forever and love that it's nearly our turn to head back! This will be our 3rd stay at PoP, just my daughter and I this trip, we are SO excited!!!

We had a very pleasant stay in the 50's section, non-preferred room (did this long weekend as cheaply as possible!). I was a little nervous having never stayed in a value before and was pleasantly surprised. Even being in a non-preferred room, I didn't find the walk to the main building to be extensive. We had a rental car, so were able to park close to our room.

The walls seem a little thin, but noise doesn't really bother me so that wasn't a problem. All in all, I'm pleased with being able to stay on property for less than $90 per day.

We are leaving this morning from our four nite stay at POP. Overall a great stay and agree bout the thin walls but the biggest thing we noticed was the HARD beds!!

But as we were gone from early morning to late nite, can't beat the value of staying here!

Congrats on your first trip to WDW and first pop stay, I know you will enjoy WDW and the POP.
Don't forget to try the tie-dye cheese cake( if you like cheese cake) I encourage you to explore pop
As much as you can, like every resort at WDW the details are what makes it.

Someone said that POP has a zero entry pool. And if so, which pool is it? Can anyone confirm this?

We stayed at ASSports last time, and although my boys are 5 and 6 spent most of the time confined to playing on the stairs of the pool cuz the water is just too deep and sits in the middle of their faces. So it's hard to play in water that deep.

Yes there is a zero entry pool. Check out post #3 of this thread for details on all the pools.

As far as I know there are no zero entry pools at Pop Century (there definitely wasn't the last 3 times I've stayed there). All of the pools range from 3ft. to 4ft. 9" deep. There tends to be a lot of people and splashing in the Hippy Dippy pool, so if a child is barely tall enough to stand in the 3ft. areas, they will get a face full of water some times. When our kids were around that height, we'd stick to the quiet pools (the bowling pin or computer pools) because there were far fewer people in them and the water was calmer. There are also life jackets available if the kids need them.

There is a splash and play area that is zero entry, but it's not very deep (maybe a foot? I can't remember.) It's usually full of toddler and pre-school aged children. It's near the hippy dippy pool but that's going to be closing for a refurbishment soon.

Well my boys are about 43" and 46" tall. I don't know that they'd have fun in the toddler pool. Why are they closing that for refurb? Are they changing it? Any rumours? Oh and when.. we will be there in May.

The Kiddie Pool will be closed for reburb from 2/19 to 3/15/13 for pool deck replacement. So, this will not affect your trip at all.

Agree the beds are hard (but we like 'em that way, so we don't mind). Also, we are "on the go people" as well, and we are just so tired at night, we have no problem falling asleep.

And yes, POP offers a great combo ... fun with a nice price tag!

Home from our short trip to Pop. I posted while I was there to say how much we were enjoying ourselves.
Overall, we had a great stay. Cant think of anything bad about it.

The things we enjoyed the most:

we were upgraded to a preferred section- very quick and easy walk to everything... nice for quick mug refills.

the cm's- everyone was so happy and friendly.

the bus service: never waited for more than 10mins for a bus to come

Now, if money were no object, the Beach Club is my preferred hotel but for this short 3 day trip Pop was perfect.

Unfortunately, no zero entry at POP (except for the Kiddie Pool) as dansdad posted.

bentopher, perhaps that person was mixing up POP with AOA, which does offer a zero entry pool.
