Okay, my old wise friends. Serious time. (Don't worry. Only sorta.)

Do you find that it is very easy to be ignored over in the big topics/threads? I feel like I showed up to a party I wasn't invited to! LOL I'm chatting in threads with genuine questions are good information, and the die out. Then others that are a trip report or something personal go on for hundreds of pages. I don't get it. I'm beginning to feel like I don't have much in common with most folks here? Maybe?

Phil - Which subforums are you hanging out on? I've found that if you haven't really been regularly posting on threads or if there isn't a regular that starts to chat with you....you do tend to be ignored initially.

Then there are groups or threads like this one where we will chat with anyone who wants to stop in to say hello. But it is a little bit like 3D friendships....it does take a while to develop the friendships. And you may have noticed that there are half a dozen of us that regularly hang out here and seem to know the comings and goings of each other's lives. We've been hanging out together for a while, much like friends IRL and sharing for a bit.

You just need to find people (or Old Fogies ) that you connect with and hang around them a bit. The more you share (and only that info that you choose to share), the more you'll fit in.

I've been posting mostly in pin trading threads, and have done okay there with feedback. Most other posts have been in Jan 2013, which is just way huge. Although the thread leader has been very kind. Other than that, almost always in trip planning. I did pm a member who seemed to have a similar sense of humor. (Snarky!) LOL And I'm going to try to organize a Week-of-Jan-22 WDW meetup. I already have screen names together. We'll see. =)

We're at JFK, changing planes. Lucky me, my 1 trip to NYC & all I see is fog! Happy you have booked another cruise Alison! Glad Fran Is up to traveling. And I remember the 70's too. So I can chat with you next week!

Don't let that bother you. I talk to anyone who comes in here. I just start to get to know them and then they don't come back. I am like ok what did I do wrong? So just hang out , I get ignored here to sometimes.....

Well we are back in the port of San Pedro. It's still early and we don't have to clear the stateroom for another hour and a half. We're essentially all packed up, and I did remember to save an outfit to wear off the ship so I don't have to steal the shower curtain!

I turned my phone back on and only had three voice mails. One from the car dealership about our Lincoln that's in for service and two automated Dr. appt reminders! Pretty good!

Phil, I've found that sometimes the questions go unanswered because people don't feel they have an enlightened or genuine answer. Plus if there is a lot of chat going on, valid questions get lost in the chat of the regulars. Sometimes by joining in their chat, they warm up to new folks and become more likely to admit if they can't answer a question. On the other hand I stumbled upon a thread where folks represented a topic, but all they wanted to do was chat amongst themselves. Those folks went off and formed their own chat thread and left the old one for what it was meant to be.

Welcome Home!!! Darn it , don't you hate it when they make you leave? I have heard horror stories about folks who did not leave themselves clothes before putting it out in the hallway. Glad you remembered, other wise Fran might have to take that Kodak moment
