So after our son being home sick from school on Friday and one of our dogs running away today (finally came back and now safely at another border), we have 9 hours until we can leave for the airport on our journey to POR!

It was an inconvenience, for sure, but did not cause the cold. Also, I'm pretty sure a cold has an incubation period of longer than overnight,

I did have an issue, I accidentally left my phone on one of the beds and it was missing when I returned in the room in the afternoon. I reported to lost and found that my phone was missing from my room. I was told by the person on the phone that I was mistaken and that housekeeping found a phone but not in my room. I was asked to describe the phone. I did, then I was asked what picture was on the screen and I honestly couldn't think of what screen she may be looking at. I told her there would be a password prompt on the screen. She said give me the password. I told her no, bring me the phone and I will put the password in I front of you and you can verify that it is infact my phone. She abruptly said, that is enough we will bring the phone down. 40 min later no phone so I called again. About 10 min later someone from housekeeping came down with the phone and a statement for me to sign that they found the phone in the Parking lot. I signed it because I really didn't want to let it ruin my vacation but it was upsetting. Lesson learned, double check your room for valuables before leaving.

When I got my phone back it was in safe mode. I had to reset it so someone tried many times to enter the incorrect password. I think that because it was useless maybe that is why I got it back do I would also recommend password protecting electronics.

This entry makes me wonder if there are,safes in the rooms at POR and if,so if,they,are,big,enough,for an,iPad?

There are safes in the rooms and they are big enough to keep iPads in there.

Oak is a good choice for a Garden View room, yes. But then so are some rooms in Parterre.

As I often say, make sure you say WHY you are making a particular request rather than just giving a desired location - I'd suggest phrasing it with the detail first, for example "close access for the main building, and ideally in Oak Manor if possible". That way if a much better room is available in Parterre than there is in Oak, it helps them understand what you are looking for.

And corner rooms can be found, by definition, all around the building... so you could be anywhere that there's a corner. (Sorry if this is stating the obvious)

Last time I was down in Disney was during the playoffs and my girlfriend and I went to see our team play at the ESPN Zone. It was a TON of fun. A lot of sports fans around and everyone was super friendly (even those cheering for the team we were playing).

That was my first thought but I've read on other threads that it's crazy busy there that day and you have to get there super early to get a seat. He wouldn't care if he's in the room (alone!) watching it either. We'll figure something out. Thanks.

We're here!! It's beautiful! So relaxing. I love the walk to our room. We are in a RR in Parterre. We had requested upper floor, close to main building and have a room just a hop, skip and jump from the path. Which is awesome and full of pixie dust b/c we booked standard view. We're super happy!!

I'm so excited! I just booked us for a trip in jan...the 4th-10th with free dining (I had a pin code)!! Didn't put in any requests when we booked, can I go back and add them later, just fax, or just hope for the best? Lol...I'm going to Disney world!!
