Ok, let's begin the evening with updates sent yesterday, starting with our First Update of the Day from superchime.


She and her family were at Epcot on Monday evening and had dinner at...

Kids Cheese Quesadillas - Flour tortillas filled with Monterrey-Jack cheese and served with Mexican rice and vegetables


"The kids went with cheese quesadillas."






Plato Vegetariano - Great combination of sauteed mixed vegetables (carrots, red bell pepper, green bell pepper, chayote, red onions, garlic and green onions), served over a bed of flour tortillas and black beans.


"I had the Plato Vegetariano. So much food!"



"Somehow I missed DH's meal entirely."

Then superchime sent us some updates from yesterday, their last day at Disney World.


First was a snack update from Epcot's...

"We went before lunch time and a ton of the patrons seemed to be native French speakers, so I guess that's a good sign."

Vegetable Stone Pie with mushrooms, onions, spinach, cheddar cheese and a side salad


"I had the vegetable stone pie, which was not what I expected but was still good."




"We also started with the cheese trio (no pic). The Irish cheddar with onion chutney was my favorite. There was also a blue-type cheese with nuts and a dill cheese with mini pickles."




"Oh, and my older DS has been listening to us talk about food all week and he wants to be sure I tell you that the Rose & Crown chips go especially well with ketchup."

Then superchime's final update was from their dinner last night at the Caribbean Beach Resort's...


Shutters






Shutters Salad - mixed greens, jicama, avocado, tropical fruit salsa, citrus vinaigrette and goat cheese







Pelau rice



She said, "I didn't want the vegetarian pasta option again, so the chef came out to talk about alternatives. Very nice of him! I always hate to make a fuss over my food preferences but he was great. I ended up having the Shutters salad and a side of the pelau rice (which is vegan, if anyone needs to know). Both were great! The salad dressing was pretty spicy (by Disney standards anyway) and the rice had a lot of different flavors. It reminded me of peas and rice from the Bahamas."







Kids steak and french fries






New York Strip steak with mashed potatoes



"Little guy had another steak and DH had one too. Older son had another cheese pizza but I photographed that last time."



"This was a great way to end our trip."




superchime then added, "I grabbed a couple of surprise treats for the boys on the plane home."

Thank you! This thread is such fun to read, I'm so glad I got to contribute. I told Barb I'm in such a habit of sending her pictures of my food, she might just get a picture of my dinner at home tonight (it was spaghetti, if anyone is wondering).

Wish I was still there today to visit some of those Epcot flower and garden festival booths. Maybe next time!

Just skimmed some of the most recent updates - this thread is still amazing as usual!

It's great to see the menus and prices of the Flower & Garden booths. There are so many things I want to try - chirashi hanazushi from Japan, the lobster and asparagus from Italy, heirloom tomato and mozzarella from UK, and of course the dole whip with spiced rum (just to try the latest dole whip creation ). This thread is going to be blowing up with more F&G updates - I can't wait to see them!

So sad to see that Emily's and Brenda's trip is over, but it'll be fun to read more about their experiences in Emily's dining review!

Finally, I had to comment on Shutters. That place used to get such terrible reviews, but I believe the chef changed last fall and now the menu looks more appealing IMO. Glad to see positive reviews for it, as I'd like to try Shutters sometime.

Our Famous Cobb Salad with finely chopped greens, turkey breast, egg, bacon, tomatoes, crumbled bleu cheese, avocado, chives and Cobb dressing



'We both ordered the entree size cobb salad, and decided to share the crab soup. The salad was delicious and so fresh. I was thinking that it would be really perfect on a hot day. The soup was ok, the flavor was a little flat. Needed more of that jalapeno oil I think."

DS14, DD10 and I will be in WDW for a quick trip April 17-19th, staying at POP.
We love this thread and would love to volunteer if you could use us.
I don't have an iphone, but DS14 has an ipod touch which is attached to him at all times and said he'd be happy to help out. Are e-mails from an ipod OK?

Hi there DDW! I am looking forward to taking a back seat and seeing what she has to offer as well. (I suppose I will have some input since I ate the food too and she does need to ask my opinion!! ) She experimented with her Canon 40D camera as well so the photos in her DR will be quite different than the iphone photos here.
