Are the bags that they give you for trick or treating sufficient or do we need to bring our own?

My bag, which I said held 1½ pounds of candy, was about half full.

We got a lot more chocolate than mentioned in PP - we got Butterfinger, Reese's, Three Musketeers, Kit Kat, etc. It was all name brand candy and I was surprised actually... I wasn't expecting good stuff. There was also a stand by Pinocchio giving out Werther's I think it was. Because it was so hot out, we did find that a lot of our chocolate was melty and messy but it hardened up once we had it in our room. |

I carry a backpack. When the bag starts getting filled up, I dump it and start again.

Wish I had known that earlier, we'd have spent less time going through the candy lines and more time on rides and just filled up on the way out, lol. Would have saved lugging it around too. Edited to add: Come to think of it, we left about 1/2 hour before it closed....so perhaps by the time the park closed and the hoards of people started pouring out they either had given out their extra, or they'd put it away because it would have slowed the movement greatly with thousands vying for candy! I am really looking forward to trick-or-treating this year!! A couple of years ago I bought this bag at one of the Disney outlets.
I plan on bringing it to hold our candy. In past years (2008 and 2009... the years I went to the party) the bags they gave out were plastic and DH tore his. YAY!!! CANDY!!!!! (pic from 2008)

Disney Food Blog mentioned you could go to guest relations to get healthy options and sugar-free candy. Does anyone have the details on what these options include? Just curious!

Cool! I work for the company that makes Peeps! I knew we'd be handing them out but I wasn't sure if it was every night. I'd love to see a picture of the Peeps cart!

Does anyone know if the bags for this year are sturdy? Or just plastic? If we filled it to the brim would we risk it breaking?

As for the size of the bag, you can get a lot of candy in one of those bags. We actually ended up with two bags each since when we went to lockers to grab our costumes they gave us an additional bag as we walked back towards Main Street under the railroad station. We ended up with 2.5 bags for the two of us. After we tossed the candy neither of us liked, we ended up with a full bag for each of us. Almost a week later, I still have tons of candy left in the bag. |
