Won't help with the BLT hope, but here is mine:

1. Resort: Beach club
2. Room type(s): Garden view (standard was out, but we wanted GV anyway and I'd forgotten to ask the TA)
3. Dates of your stay: 6/20-6/28
4. Approximate date you booked with the military discount: today, Oct 6.

If you are interested in hotels not on property, my family loves to stay at Gaylord Palms and we always get a great military rate. We have paid $96 a night there. That is cheaper than Shades of Green for us.

Also... wanted to add to my post above.

We live in Tampa, daughter is a competitive cheerleader with lots of competitions in Orlando so we stay in Orlando a lot. When a bunch of cheer mom's get together to stay together we stay at Westgate Lakes Resort and get a condo style room with 3-4 bedrooms. They also offer a military discount. HOWEVER, WGL they inist on taking you sales pitch tour. But we turned them down flat to take the tour. Great place for very large groups 12+ people all in same condo.

After posting yesterday, ironically booked today with a military discount.

1. Resort - All Star Sports
2. Room type(s) - I have no clue, just a standard for 4 people
3. Dates of your stay - 1-3 March
4. Approximate date you booked with the military discount - 8-Oct-12

Came out to $106 per night including tax.

Has anyone considered booking 'Play, Stay, and Dine' instead of the Military Discount? Which is the better deal in your opinion?

Beach Club
Standard view
May 18th - 23rd
booked 8.23.12

then changed it

Beach Club
Deluxe room - Club level
May 18th - 23rd
changed on 11.11.12

then changed it (and I swear this is it )

Boardwalk
Deluxe room - Club level
May 18th - 23rd
changed on 11.15.12

I have no idea why I am having such a hard time making up my mind, but I have had no problems with availability.

The military discount is better for us...we use the 40% on a deluxe. We have AP's so don't need tickets, and we aren't doing the DDP either, it really doesn't work for us at all.

What does the military rate typically end up being? We are used to staying at Shades, but are considering trying a Disney property this time. TIA!

It is 30% on values, 35% on moderates, and 40% on deluxes.

Just Booked Beach Club garden view yesterday for 4/28-5-4. Most room types were still available, I think standard view was the only one not available for the miliary rate for those dates.

ASMovies
Preferred
5/7 - 5/13
Booked 12/7

Bummed we couldn't get a moderate. None were available! Any idea if all moderates have military discounts or just certain ones? ASMo was the only value available too!!
