Won't help with the BLT hope, but here is mine:
1. Resort: Beach club 2. Room type(s): Garden view (standard was out, but we wanted GV anyway and I'd forgotten to ask the TA) 3. Dates of your stay: 6/20-6/28 4. Approximate date you booked with the military discount: today, Oct 6. |

If you are interested in hotels not on property, my family loves to stay at Gaylord Palms and we always get a great military rate. We have paid $96 a night there. That is cheaper than Shades of Green for us.

Also... wanted to add to my post above.
We live in Tampa, daughter is a competitive cheerleader with lots of competitions in Orlando so we stay in Orlando a lot. When a bunch of cheer mom's get together to stay together we stay at Westgate Lakes Resort and get a condo style room with 3-4 bedrooms. They also offer a military discount. HOWEVER, WGL they inist on taking you sales pitch tour. But we turned them down flat to take the tour. Great place for very large groups 12+ people all in same condo. |

Has anyone considered booking 'Play, Stay, and Dine' instead of the Military Discount? Which is the better deal in your opinion?

The military discount is better for us...we use the 40% on a deluxe. We have AP's so don't need tickets, and we aren't doing the DDP either, it really doesn't work for us at all.

What does the military rate typically end up being? We are used to staying at Shades, but are considering trying a Disney property this time. TIA!

Just Booked Beach Club garden view yesterday for 4/28-5-4. Most room types were still available, I think standard view was the only one not available for the miliary rate for those dates.
