Moving the Princess to DisneyWorld, DH 50th B'day Trip & Several Trips. Update 4/19

DisneyWorld Here we come!!!!!!!!!

Yes, my DD Rae applied for the Disney College Program and YES she was accepted.....
We are on cloud 10000000000000 billion!!!!!
and yes,
This is her dream...

Dream's do come true!!!

So, now come along with us as we make our plans on taking her to DisneyWorld...
There will be lots of details that I can't wait to share with you.... and some I can't... but I can't wait for this awesome adventure of her life and ours...

There are several trips that I'm working on but the main trip right now is taking her to her new home...

Coming soon will be the who's, what's, when's, and other fun information... I've got to put all the fun details on how the interview went and other exciting things about her acceptance together.

No, I ended up deleting all the posts on there after I found out someone was stealing pictures and information from that trip report. It was kind of a rash decision at that time, because I was so upset. I couldn't delete the whole thread so I just deleted the info on my posts. I should edit my signature and take that out! I had totally forgotten about all that until I just saw your post!

Oh my word? What is wrong with people? I don't blame you for deleting your pictures! Hopefully they don't continue to do that kind of thing on these boards - I just love reading about people's trips, and I am ADDICTED to Carolyn's trip reports now! I feel like I am part of her family!!

Thanks for following me over to Disboards... In my Signiture is a trip report to DW that we took last Spring Break.. We had so much fun on that trip... It was a crazy one... Lots of laughes..
I hope I have lots of pictures for a pretrip... I'll dig deep into my picture file...

It happened a long time ago, and thankfully it wasn't for anything bad, I just didn't like the fact that someone took my pictures and proposal story without my permission! I hope its not something that happens a lot on these boards and that it was an isolated incident!

I feel the same way about Carolyn's reports and being a part of the family!

Apparently someone had taken the proposal pictures and story and entered them in a contest. I got a notification about the contest well after it had started, and thankfully got it straightened out with the person running the contest. She offered to let me either keep my information there or take it down, so I kept it there and ended up winning for best Disney proposal. So it all worked out, but just the thought of someone taking my information like that freaked me out!

Sorry I've been so missing in action but I'm a little frustrated...
You ask WHY???

Well, I've been working on my up-date and I've been wanting to install pictures of our very first trip!!!!!
That's where this whole adventure began for Rae...
BUT
NO....
I can't figure out how to use my &$%%*! scanner....
It's so frustrating...
and the pictures are so cute...

So.....

I guess, I'll attempt to tell you the story without pictures...



So do you want the Cliff Notes Version or the Carolyn Version...

I'll attempt the Cliff Note, but I can never just tell small details of a story I have to go on and on about every little detail. Thats what makes the story entertaining...

Once Upon A Time...

A long long time ago...

Way back when...

I was born, YES, can you believe that

On Jan. 16th 190000000 and something

My first trip and only trip to DisneyLand was Disneyland - when I was 5 years old.
My first trip and only trip to DisneyWorld - I was somewhere around 12 years old.
Needless to say, I don't really remember the trips very much, although Magic Kingdom was DisneyWorld.

So, Fast forward to more of my life.
.
I got married at 25 we had 3 fabulous kids

And I loved everything Disney: Movies, Toys and whatever: especially Disney Stores!!!

I also made my precious children watch every Disney Movie that was out on Video or in the movie theater!

Rae loved all the movies and she also loved to dressed up like a princess. Belle was her favorite.
She also had stuff animals that were Nala & Simba and Marie.
She also played with these little figures that were Disney toys, I really think we got them in Kids meals from McDonald's

Jeff and I always wanted to take the kids to DisneyWorld but we could never find the money, and we just hadn't won the Lottery YET!!!
Haha, So we just dreamed of one day going.



So fast forward to 2001..

I became a single mom on St. Patricks Day 2001 Hubby left me for a 26 year Blonde... Haha... We were in our late 30's, So I left the little town we were living in with my 3 percious children and moved back home...

Fast Forward 3 years...

I meet Charlie in August of 2004... He was a single guy, never been married and no children... Perfect. He swept me off of my feet... We got married in April of 2005...

(Useless information) (but it does make the story more entertaining)

So... Charlie had some land in the area that he grew up in and figured he had no need for it anymore so he decided to sale it...

SOOOOOOOOO Out of that sale, Charlie wanted to take us on a trip of a lifetime...



You know, that once in a lifetime trip

and

he wanted to take us to.

Wait for it.

YES you guessed it.

DISNEYWORLD...

Yes, This was going to be our Once in a lifetime trip....



You know everyone has one of these...

RIGHT?!?!?!

your only going this one time.




So the SURPRISE TRIP WAS ON...

July 30th through Aug. 5th, 2006....

We called our travel agent friend and she booked it for us.

BeachClub Resort, 7 day - Park Hopper, Dining Plan, YES!!! We were set.

A little side note, We had no idea that we would need dining reservations.

and

We didn't even know that Disboards existed!

We didn't even have a plan, I know!!!

But we were off

Flying - into Orlando; Magical Express; BeachClub! Here we come

I have to share with you about pulling off the surprise part though

Such a fun age
So this is how it went

We told the kids that we were going on an awesome vacation to Schlitterbahn and the Beach at South Padre& Our plan was to spend a couple of nights at Schlitterbahn and then on to south Padre for the rest of the week. They were so excited. We love water parks and the Beach!!!

Of course I packed them.
Because Im a control freak
Plus I had to pack them for Disney not Schlitterbahn and theres no way they would have packed what was needed for Disney. If they would have packed it would have been swim suits and swim suits.


Soooo, we told them that we were leaving at 5:00am Sunday morning so we could get to Schlitterbahn right when it opened and to pack their backpacks with their swimsuits, sunscreen, flip flops and stuff for the water park.. Haha.

See we were really sneaky

So we all piled into the Tahoe
Now our Tahoe had a 3rd row of seat in the back but we had so much luggage that the kids had to ride altogether. ERIC was mad. Driving for 4 hours in the Tahoe side by side was something he didnt want to do, he just wanted to sleep Remember hes 18. Big guy on campus.

So off we went that morning
It was very very very early and they were not happy campers.

Now our airport is on the edge of town and it takes about 15 minutes from our house to get there. Remember its 5:00am and its dark outside

So as we were driving down some of the streets in our big city, I started telling Charlie, "My stomach feels yucky!"
A few minutes later I told him, "I really think I might have the bug!"

and on and on I went! I was trying to convince the kids that I was feeling bad.

The kids were like Mom its just your crazy tummy!

But by the time we got to the exit for the airport.
I turned to Charlie and yelled "Turn into the airport, I think I need to throw up, NOW!".

So Charlie pulls into the airport and as we pull up to the drop off area, so I could jump out and run to the bathroom! Hahaha

There stood the kids grandparents, my mother, and my older brother - with the video camera recording all the excitement!

The kids were like,



Whats going on?
Why are Papa & Grandmother at the airport?
Are they going somewhere???

SUPRISES!!!!! Were going to DISNEYWORLD!!!!!

Erics like OK, but can I go back to bed. (No, he was excited, although he had been to Disney about 2 years before this trip with his church youth choir, but they only spent a day in MK.) But he was excited
Bradys like wow, but why are they here.
Rae of course is jumping up and down. Shes so excited!

So off we flew! The boys had both been on an airplane but this was Raes first.

When we arrived at Disney that day,





The first park we went to was MGM at the time - Disney Hollywood Studios and the first thing we saw was Cars, Stars and Motor Cars Parade. LOVE THIS PARADE! At this point we all feel deeply in love with Disney. We were hooked!

The whole trip was fabulous. We all loved everything about it.
Charlie was hooked, He didnt want to leave, he was already trying to figure out how we could go back again.
The boys thought it was amazing, plus they went over to ESPN Zone and watch the Tampa Bay Buccaneer Pre Season Work Outs..
and Rae,
Well, SHE LOVED IT!!!! Chip and Dale wanted to marry her.




Every park and every ride were her favorite, and She couldnt wait to go back!!!

Everyone was hooked. Time to plan another trip!!!!
