Oh this update has me wanting to get to the Fort badly! I wonder how long the campsites are decorated for the holidays, I'd love to get over there and see it but am not sure how to fit it in before NYE and wonder how late they stay up past that?

How wonderful that Brooklynn got to ride a pony, eat a Mickey bar and then get a do over on one! That would make me want to swing too

I'm still eating very lightly, as in almost nothing, but that's a good thing. Maybe I will lose an ounce of weight in all this.

Trent and whoever comes with him plan to start driving down Friday night, and they will get there Saturday, the 28th.

I'm sure some campsites keep decorations up through the first week of January or so, as the parks do.

I ate a biscuit this morning, and I looked at your trip report and did fine with all those food pictures.

I made our reservations last weekend. The price of the rooms went down drastically on our last night. Kinda hurts to look at it when it's your last night, but it would be a joy if it was the beginning. Unfortunately, we have to get back to school in the early days of January. Lucky are those who can go during the first weeks of January.

So, is 'Ohana a go for everyone on 12/31, or are some people doing Epcot? I think our group will be doing 'Ohana and Poly beach.

I have BCV and SSR but will be booking BCV. When I bought in the SSR appealed to me for a treehouse and now the increased points put a damper on that but as popular as they are i still see it as a possibility someday

Pretty much back to normal now, thanks.

We had patches of ice this morning, but not enough to keep us out of school. I don't mind Fridays, though, because they are pretty much test days. Also, this afternoon, we're watching a movie on MLK, so the afternoon will be easy. Happy Friday to you, as well!

Really enjoying all your resort visits. I have only been to the Fort once. We have stayed WL over the 4th but never made it back to the fort. What a fun parade! I like the boat and the Minnie cart. Too cute!

Glad Jill is getting a trip to WDW but really feel for her. Her MIL sounds like my Mom. Don't get me wrong. I love her to death but the older she gets the worse the drama and negativity is getting. We took her to WDW once and that was enough for all of us. She always finds fault with everything we do (except for Jeremy). If he does anything wrong it is always because of something I did. She actually told me Tuesday night that I treat my cat better than him and that is why Jeremy doesn't like the cat anymore. It has nothing to do with the fact that the cat gave him a good scratching. Jill will be in my prayers that week for sure! However, I loved your telling of her trip. You had me laughing at my desk.

Glad you didn't get a lot of ice. We were supposed to have several inches of snow but only got a dusting.

I agree, a tree house would be fun, we've always wanted to stay over there. Hmmmmm. I know we were thinking to try for Wilderness Lodge, but we could look into a house up in the trees.....
I think they are pretty hard to get but we could always do a waitlist.
If it comes through, perhaps we could have that party!

Jill is definitely doing her part in planning to make this a good trip, so if John's mom does the same, they should make it okay. Talking about the overall what could be and then knowing the reality of what might be hour by hour - there is a little contrast there, though.

Glad you got a chuckle out of the story. I hope Jill can continue to thread the humor in her stories during the trip.

This is the beginning of a WILD crew, is it not???

I'd hold off on that treehouse until points are more reasonable. We'll do that party, in time. Wilderness Lodge at Christmas is extra magical.

We are going to have a fun night at 'Ohana, if we can all get in!

After a Mickey bar - or some of two - and some play time, we left this lovely campground for our next destination.







I thought this was a good reminder that Disney is just for kids, right?
Surely it's not for 'gray hairs'.

It's been a while since we did Chef Mickey's. We might try to do this on our one day on WDW property before we start our drive home this summer.
