That sounds cool! How were you chosen? From the boards? Fun!

I feel bad for my mom~she gets those personality traits from my grandmother who, sorry to say, was a horrible human being. So , its all in the bringing-up. My mom was a much better mom than grandma, and I am a much better mom than MY mom. So I figure by the time my great-great grandchildren are parents, they'll be perfect!
Maybe we should all start a support group? My mom has diagnosed mental health issues and alcholic issues. She did some really horrible things when I was younger. If anything she's gotten slightly better since I left the house or maybe its just because I'm not around her 24/7 that I think she's 'better'. But like if DH and I ever have kids they will NEVER go to grandma's house without us. DH would prefer she never see our kids but since we have none yet it hasn't become an issue. I agree she shouldn't spend time with them alone. It's because of her I don't drink. I know drinking won't turn me into my mom but I try to do my best to do the opposite of whatever she does. Luckily for me I knew this from an early age and my entire life I've strived to do the opposite of whatever I think my parents would do.

On the flip side of that we may stop to see her for a few minutes on our drive down to FL since we drive right by there. I figure we stop for a meal or 15 minutes depending on what time it is. Then I will have fulfilled my mother quota for the year.

I'll have to join you. Although my mother likes to tell people she is Mother of the Year, her and I both know the word "Worst" belongs in front of that. When I was younger I spent many years being upset and wondering how anyone could love me since my own mother didn't, but now it's different. I've come to accept she is an impaired person. I see my family occasionally, and keep in touch with one of my sisters, but otherwise keeping my distance is the best thing for my mental health.

Not to double post but I was just checking my reservation for a room number like SenacaWolf and saw it has my husband listed as Mrs. not Mr. It was like that on our Mickey Mail too but I just figured it was a typo.

Should I call and fix that? Is there a way to fix it online? Or should I just not bother? We are from Iowa so a Mrs & Mrs is possible.

Yep that is what I do too. I haven't seen or spoke to my dad since my wedding and I see my mother maybe once a year if that since she moved away. I keep in contact with most of my family via facebook but but in person not so much. It's hard because I live further away. Luckily I have AWESOME in-laws. They are such a close family and love each other very much. My MIL is alot like me (like scary alike personality wise...) so we get along fine. But they live 90 miles away and that's good because we see them about once a month which is perfect. Not too much not too little.

Does that mean thats going to be my room number?

Everything else is identical to the reservation I had received earlier except for the room number. Wouldn't be complaining, thats the area I hope to be in
I had heard that they do not assign rooms until 10 days prior to the arrival dates. Did you make a room request? If that is your room, it is the Lady building, BTW

Yaaaayyyyy!!!!
I know my excitement hit yesterday. All of a sudden it feels real again!! We're at 27 days and since I'm nowhere near ready it feels close

I managed to snag a 5pm Trex today!! We had another reservation I wasn't too excited about that day and my son will be thrilled. We have been before, and th food was basic but good, the atmosphere is fun but loud and ds will Build a Dino after supper. We have two that he still sleeps with every night along with 2 stuffed puppies and a Duffy. He's 8 so it won't be much longer that he still wants stuffed animals. I'll stretch this out as long as I can

I really think my mom believes that she wasn't that bad! I don't know if its the mental illness or just really good lying but there are times things she's said as 'memories' that are totally fabricated.
Goes to show that we have overcome our own rough experiences and have become better parents because of it! My kids and I are SO close and can tell me anything. I know that when I was their age I was doing everything possible to avoid my mom.

LOL this is awesome!

Good thing your driving, somehow last trip Disney got my son's middle name as MSTR so he was Ian Mstr instead of Mstr Ian on his plane ticket. TSA agent at Buffalo airport actually called over a supervisor to see if it was ok! (As if I would give my child THAT as a middle name!) Thank goodness our tribal ID's have photos, he looked over his ID, asked Ian his date of birth then let us thru. MCO didn't say a word LOL.

As far as that room number, perhaps it assigned early because it's wheelchair accessible and they only have so many?
It does say removed though.. so I have so clue on that one!

When I switched from a package to a room only I spent quite a bit of time on the phone making sure that there was a roll in shower. Then a few weeks ago I called to make sure that there were 2 beds in the room. I got transferred from the call center to POP to housekeeping to check the room type. I told them I wasn't concerned about it being a king/dbl as long as it was at least a dbl/dbl with a roll in shower. They assured me that my reservation is as it states. I really hope thats my room number, I would love that location!

re: budgeting $200 for next trip deposit and all the changing resort talk

We just started talking last weekend about what week to go next year. I'm going to book a 1br the 3rd week in August at BLT as soon as my booking window opens in September. I'm planning on getting an AP (gotta love that DVC discount!!) and I'll do the Tables in Wonderland card again so both of those will be good next year.

That said, by the time next summer rolls around, we may be in CA. :-O I wonder how hard it is to get a room at the Villas at the Grand Californian at the 7-month window...

I was never much of a resort changer at all, but since buying DVC, I don't change anything unless it's due to a waitlist coming through. Kind of "set it and forget it" mindset.

Like the idea of budgeting that little extra. Since it is just me I'll also volunteer to bump off of the plane I'd necessary. That's how I paid for this trip. Lol
