New Year 2013 and fun with the Firework Gods

Happy New Year everyone! I hope that 2012 has been a great year for you all and may 2013 be filled with love, fun, family and more Disney planning.

DH and I have been heading into the city to enjoy the fireworks the last couple of years -- but this year, DH wanted a change of location.

So, last night, I saw in the New Year with my younger brother. We had a quiet night at his place, eating, drinking and catching up with the sort of news that families share.

It really was a great night. Because....when we got close to midnight, we headed out to a nearby park with great views of the Melbourne skyline.

Admittedly, it wasn't the sort of close encounters I had been wanting; but it worked as a compromise location for DH and myself.

And I've always wondered about how this particular location would work out as a fireworks shoot location. Now I know!

We really were further out than I liked; but some of the shots did work out reasonably well.

In the wash-up, DH has agreed that the city centre is really the spot to be for close encounters with the Firework Gods. At least we won't be having a similar discussion next year!

I like your up close and personal fireworks shots too, but it's a nice change to get a wider perspective on things

Being hungry is not the best time to admire your food porn.

Those vegetarian noodles look so good. I enjoy the pics and explanations of food which is different from what I am used to. It all looks so yummy. I want rum balls!

The town hall pics are unbelievable. Absolutely gorgeous. Excuse me now while I go find something to eat.....
