I love the pics and your right it looks alot like the US State Fairs. My favorites are the animals and quilts.

I am caught up once again! The tulips are so very pretty. You should be used walking in cow pies by now.

Alison - One of these years, DH and I are going to get us a Bengal. They are a little larger than the average cat variety but the markings are just so distinctive!

I also used to prefer the more traditional displays. Obviously the horses... showing, jumping, harness, whatever was going... Aside from that I used to love watching the sheepdog trials and agility. And the cakes are always amazing! I do love a nice decorated cake! And the photography... You should enter next year's PIO

Oh, and the dairy pavilion for the free samples, although it was ALWAYS packed!

Love your animal pics, especially the cute little kitties! The Bengal is very handsome.

Where on earth did that first 50,000 go?

With this post, I have hit the milestone of 50,000 posts.

When I first de-lurked off the Dis and became a member all of two and the half years ago, I would never have imagined that I would hit 50K posts.

Those of you that have hung out with me for a while will know that I like to do some accounting around these these mill....er....milestones.

So, assuming that there was a minimum of 40 seconds between each post....

I have accumulated the following numbers:

50,000 posts, which if I assume the 40 second rule, amounts to a minimum of
2,000,000 seconds spent on the Dis, which translates to
33,333 minutes, which translates to
555 hours...or rather...
23 days

That's a lot of time Dis-sing.....but still not quite a full month of Sundays....yet.
