Hello, My family if finally taking a vacation (2 years since the last one) However, the Standard Rooms in the Art of Animation Value Resort (Little Mermaid) are all booked. We will be there Dec 31, 2012 - Jan 4, 2013. If anyone needs to cancel or move their reservation during those dates it would be greatly appreciated if you can contact me so I can use the date. My family, especially my little mermaid would love it. Thanks.

I would like to know how this is going to work. I know you can't transfer the names on the reservation to another family. Please someone correct me if I'm wrong. I believe once someone cancels their reservation, it goes back to the inventory and that room is now for grabs. So if someone online or on the phone wants it, and it is available, then it will be off the "market" again. Kind of first come first serve. It may be available in a split second. But good luck! I hope you do get your LM section!

You are correct. And sometimes it takes time before it even pops back up into inventory. Your best bet is just to call every day and hope you catch one opening up. Good luck!

Did you only look online or call? I think maybe it's because of your length of stay. I just punched in 12/31-1/7 and LM rooms pulled up. I'd call if you tried online or just add extra days to your trip then call and cancel them but still keep the dates you want booked.

I know, it is a one in a million, but it is worth a try. Of course we will still have fun either way. My hope is someone will have a change of plan (not in a bad way) and they can contact me just so I can start the calling process. Thanks for the encouraging words.

Thank you for confirming this. I don't like giving the wrong answer on the DIS, especially when you are trying to help someone answer the question.

Yes, the best bet is to call everyday. You might even want to call 3x a day. People cancel all the time.. I know I do, because I find myself changing resorts all the time. I change resorts like 4x before I make my "final destination."

MMS1125 you are awesome. I just added one day and LM rooms popped up. Looks like we get an extra day at the resort. woo hoo.
