The Florida sun does make the diamonds more sparkly! Your rings are beautiful
I've been married 3 years now and I still stare at my rings from time to time. I love mine too! That bathroom behind Figment, there is the CM entrance "on stage" and behind the partition, Figment wrote his name in the cement. I learned that from our pal Lou Mongello! Can you believe DH never noticed that butterfly disappear before until only recently? We've been on that ride many times! Always something new to discover!

Getting caught up! I love Living with the Land, but I'm not sure it really needs a FP!
![]() I love that house in there, it would be such a nice place to live! There are lots of places in Epcot that I'd like to live! I tried to watch your video, but after about 20 seconds I had to stop it, it was making me homesick for Epcot and Future World! ![]() Your rings are really pretty! I'm the same way, I don't really wear jewelry except my rings, I still stare at my engagement ring all the time when I catch it sparkling! My rings are pretty simple too, but I love them! ![]() Figment is cute, I could do without the skunk smell, but it's a nice ride when the lines are long! I miss the old Figment ride, the end reminds me of it, I wish they would just bring it back!

I want to like the Figment ride but the original version was so wonderful that this one will always pale in comparison.
A lot of the Figments at the end of the ride appeared in the original version. I do like that part a lot-but not the big burst of air. We always hold our breath during the skunk part. My favorite EPCOT bathroom is out side the entrance near where the kennel used to be: huge, clean and empty!

I can totally understand that mix of sadness but excitement at no Disney trip! I totally think that the wait for DVC will be worth it though! It just guarantees so many more trips in the future! I think the next trip DH and I take will be something more local like Lancaster, PA to see a show at Sight & Sound or Washington DC to visit all the monuments and museums! It'll be strange not vacationing in WDW though! We've gone to WDW 5x together because we went with my family before we got married too. Quote:
Haha, he definitely would've made it on a DIS thread for that if that were the case! I love how the stroller tag is just so boldly written too, haha. The train part really IS loud! I wasn't sure if I was just being sensitive or something, but each time we go on it, I have to prepare myself for it. I don't even have an issue with really loud noises the way my mom does, but there's something about that scene that makes my ear drums feel weird. Quote:
Um, I think our honeymoon trip was better than our December trip because I got sick during the latter! I spent 3 days in our room just because I wasn't feeling well enough to go out. I must've gotten sick from one of the many others who were sick. The cold/cough deal just knocked me out. Even when we got back home, I was still dealing with it. I'm actually still not even better yet! That alone makes the honeymoon trip better than this past one. However, in terms of going out and doing more, December was better because we were so EXHAUSTED after our wedding! If I had to pick, my favorite trip was actually our April 2012 one with my family. DH and I (DFi at the time) hit all 4 parks (3 of them by ourselves) even though we weren't staying on property. It also was much better weather than May (hot!) and December (too cold on certain days!). LOVE THAT TRACK PHOTO! Aren't they just so awesome? For me, track and ride vehicle photos makes me feel as if I'm in Disney more than character photos and such. Quote:
I am always trying to notice more and more details each time we go, and it never fails us ... there are always a million things to see for the first time! Quote:
Ooo, I'm going to have to check that out next time! Speaking of our pal, Howard and I could've gone to MK the day that he was there in December, but we decided not to because I don't really know the WDW Radio community. I don't think anything would've beat meeting him and Jim Korkis privately and having a long conversation with them. Haha, I'd like to know what your DH was looking at when entering that scene if he never saw the butterfly before! Quote:
Quote:
Don't you have an "apartment" somewhere in World Showcase or somewhere in WDW like I have my "apartment" in the China pavilion? I'm trying to remember if you were the one that wrote that in a TR or commented on one of my older ones. Awww, don't mean to make you homesick! You do get back to our World rather often though so at least you'll be able to see it soon! I'm going to be so homesick when our APs expire! I think simple rings are just absolutely gorgeous. I think it also just fits wearing it every day too. It goes with everything! I don't remember the old Figment ride THAT much. I do remember Dreamfinder and the scene where he was riding on his flying bicycle type vehicle. I also remember they had a section about literature and words and such? I should look it up on YouTube or something. Quote:
I've never been in that bathroom before! Haha, I like how that one picture caused my fellow DISers to reveal their favorite bathrooms. We are a weird bunch!

Let It Blow Your MIND!
During our April trip with my parents, I had Howard experience this attraction for the first time ever. I told him that it would blow his mind, but he wasn't sure if I was being serious or sarcastic. VIDEO: The Attraction That'll Blow Your Mind There really are no words for Captain EO! We did end up just missing the start of the previous show, but we were in no rush to go anywhere so we just decided to sit down against the wall and relax a bit. ![]() Can't you just feel the slightly outdated color scheme and design? ![]() I have to say though that it's really an awesome attraction, haha. I think it's much better than "Honey, I Shrunk the Audience." ![]() I just love how nonsensical the plot is and how serious Michael Jackson is when he's in a cast with the weirdest creatures ever! ![]() VIDEO: Waiting for Captain EO Time for the Pre-Show! I like all the background, behind-the-scenes footage that they showed. ![]() We were let into the theater, and I was so excited for all the special effects! I do yelp a bit when you feel the air that's supposed to be the whips around your legs. I also really love the fact that the entire theater bounces in tune to the song. After we saw this show for the first time together in April, we had to listen to it on YouTube once in a while because it was just so catchy! I highly recommend experiencing this if you haven't before even just for nostalgic reasons. ![]() After our own minds were blown, we walked around and saw a CM change the Wait Time for the Character Spot. Howard had thought about waiting in that line to get the autographs of the Fab 5 on a big white Vinylmation figurine, but the line was never short enough during our trip. ![]() We instead headed to Innoventions to check out the Sum of All Thrills! ![]() I got super excited that they had formulas written on the glass. It's kinda difficult to see, but there's the formula for the circumference of a circle = 2 x pi x radius (or it could just be pi x diameter). I try to get my students to memorize the formulas and NOT mix them up, but there are always a select few who choose not to take the time to memorize it even when there are the fun ways to review it like, "Cherry Pie's Delicious" (C = pi x diamenter) and "Apple pies are too" (A = pi x radius squared). ![]() Anyway, we were excited to get our ride on and not really worry about mathematical formulas, haha. I knew for sure that I did not want to do anything crazy, of course, so no flips or loops! ![]() There was a tiny bit of a wait but nothing like what we saw during our Christmas trip! ![]() Plus, you get to wait right next to the windows and watch other riders. It's crazy seeing how some people just have loop after loop as they get turned upside down! ![]() We were cut off from making it into the room to hear the pre-show spiel. ![]() The pre-show is hilarious if you haven't seen it before. The guy who looks a bit like Chandler from Friends has the creepiest eyebrows! They are just way too perfect and plucked. After you listen to the explanation, you are let into the Design lab, which you can see to the left of the room. You have a certain amount of time to design your ride and see if it'll work out. The faster you work, the faster you can go up to wait in line for one of the Kuka arms. ![]() We had a really fun ride even though we chose the bobsled (the calmest choice). It was still a thrill for me! I have to say that I get the slightest bit nervous about this ride because of the role it played in Kingdom Keepers though! Haha, even though it was in Disney Quest (from what I remember), it was still the same ride and someone bumped into the protagonists and switched their rider card! I hold on to that baby like there's no tomorrow! Don't want any Overtakers to give us a crazy ride where the emergency stop won't work! Haha, hope I didn't spoil it for anyone!

A trip to DC is awesome! I used to live in that area and there is a lot of things to do there! The zoo is free because you can take the metro over there and I think the walk was a few blocks there. Not too bad. My dd and I went with one of my friends there and the walk there was great but with 5 kids the walk back was torture to them. Lol. Baltimore is another great place to go. I'm looking forward to the beach this year plus there is a lot to do in Myrtle Beach and we love camping there too.

We have never seen Captain EO. It looks like fun! I had no idea that the whole theater bounced to the beat!
I haven't managed to do Sum of All Thrills yet either. I really enjoy thrill rides, but I can't take it if it is just one after another and another. I don't think I could do loop after loop! That's the beauty of Disney. Lots of great rides with a few thrills sprinkled in! |

I enjoyed following along on your Christmas trip via Facebook and Instagram!
We love Sum of All Thrills, too! The kids try to put as many inversions as they can! I can remember reciting "A pie are square?!" to remember the formula for area of a circle when I was younger. Silly, I know! We usually always find time to visit Figment - especially during Evening Extra Magic Hours when there is no line at all!

Your wedding was beautiful and your trip has gotten off to a wonderful start. What a perfect place to celebrate your honeymoon. I'll be reading along!

We're not beach people or we'd definitely do that too! It'd be fun to have a relaxing trip. Don't get me wrong; I LOVE Disney! But I love that there are other options since WDW is not an option this year as I know it isn't for you either. It's nice to be "forced" to enjoy other things too, haha. Quote:
Seriously, loop after loop would get me so sick! That's why we picked the bobsled with NO loops, haha. It was still enough thrill for me! I definitely think Thunder Mountain is enough of a thrill for me! I don't need to deal with anything crazier than that. I like being able to laugh and see everything on a ride. Quote:
Haha, I wonder if my kids will be into crazy rides too because Howard and I will definitely not be able to take them! We need a fun aunt or uncle, haha. There's something just great about the corniness of Figment! Plus, I love those ride vehicles! Quote:
Have you read Kingdom Keepers before? In one part of the second to last book, there's a crazy scene from Sum of All Thrills, so I get a little nervous, haha. Quote:
There's no other place I would have wanted to be for our honeymoon! No other place is as magical.

I want to do this. The sides are open, right? I wouldn't be able to do it if it is completely closed in. I'd say the bobsled would be perfect for me, too. And as for the Kingdom Keepers stuff, I don't ever want to read those books. I know too many people who read them, enjoy them, but are creeped out by certain park things after that. Ignorance is bliss for me, in this case.
