Smile So confused for Vietnam Visa and extra photos?

My husband and I are going on the ABD Southeast Asia trip in letter December 2014. We both have up to date passports. How did you get your Vietnamese Visas? Through the Embassy in Washing ton or that link to a CIBT visas site ? Do we also need to bring 2 extra passport appropriate photos for the other VISAs Disneybtakes care of for us? THANKS so much in advance? We have previously done the Viva Italia ABD, but there was nothing extra this complicated.

Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia all require visas in addition to your normal passport. The Vietnam visa must be received in advance. The Laos and Cambodia visas are purchased and received at the boarders of those countries and Adventures by Disney takes care of that for you. You do need to bring extra passport photos to give to the ABD guides so they can get the Laos and Cambodia visas, so that's what the (4?) extra photos that you bring with you are for.

As far as the Vietnam Visa, you can get that from a Vietnam consulate if you have one near you. Otherwise you can use one of those 3rd party services where you mail them your passport and info and they do it for you. I used a consulate, and it took 2 wks. You do have to give them your passport, just to be clear. When you get it back it will have a visa sticker on one of your pp pages. Obviously make sure you select correct dates, and if you are planning on reentering Vietnam after the ABD concludes, get a multi entry visa. For example, a family on our trip was returning to Hanoi to go to Hulong Bay.

If you don't want to mail in your passport, another option is Visa-On-Arrival, which is what we did. There are several online companies that offer this service and the fee is much less than applying through the Vietnamese Consulate or CIBT.

This company's link will answer any questions you have about Visa-on-Arrival:

http://www.myvietnamvisa.com/

There is also a $45 Stamping Fee at the arrival airport (Saigon or Hanoi). This fee is payable in cash only and US Dollars are accepted.

During the trip, the Adventure Guides will obtain our visas for Laos and Cambodia upon arrival at those airports, so they will collect your 2 photos prior to leaving Vietnam.

In both 2 ways, you will need to prepare a passport-sized photo.
Here is the requirements for Vietnam visa photo: e-vietnamvisa.com/general-information/photo-requirements.html
You are recommended to apply for Vietnam visa on arrival if you are living far a way from Vietnam Embassy.
