ABD with kids

Have a question for you guys who have experienced ABD with kids. What are the most favorable kid trip itineraries? Not opposed to going out of country with kids but also enjoy travel in the US. Is the ABD experience worth the added cost? Do you have recommendations booking directly vs using Dreams unlimited for example? Sorry for all the questions and yes I have left this broad as most of the itineraries look great. Thank you for your answers in advance.

I hear that the Wyoming trip is particularly nice for kids, but I haven't personally taken it (yet). The Arizona & Utah trip is pretty spectacular. Either of those would be a good starting point.

You don't say how old your kids are, or how much traveling they've done. I think that information would definitely help people to suggest trips for you.

Sorry. My son is 10 almost 11. My daughter is 8. They have been on the 7 day Fantasy cruise, traveled to San Antonio, Washington DC , Virginia, and throughout Florida. Great little travelers but want to make sure we don't bore them with adult things the whole time. Good mix for everyone. Thanks!

Your kids are a perfect age for ABD. Most of the kids ages are from 8 through teenagers 16 /17. The tours appeal to everyone and I have found that the kids bond really quickly and the tours are geared towards entertaining all ages. Food is never a question for the menu always takes the kids into account. On the buses the kids usually sit together and keep each other entertained if not watching the video on board. Our daughter in 13 now and has taken 4 ABD trips so far and loved everyone. She started at 9 with Alaska, 11 with Montana/Alberta, 12 with Arizona and 13 with the Germany trip. Each trip the kids groups made up almost half of the group total(s). The Grand Canyon / Arizona is a great trip IMO to start. ABD is a little more expensive than other trips but they do offer first class stays and resorts and the guides do go out of their way to make sure everything is perfect for your family. We have traveled with other tour companies and do think ABD is one of the finest tour groups we have traveled with. Any questions on these trips I would be happy to try to answer.

We did the Scotland ABD when my kids were 9 and 11, and the Central Europe ABD when they were almost-10 and almost-12. They loved both trips. As others have said, I am happy to answer any questions.

We did Barcelona and the Med Cruise add-on when my daughter was 9, Wyoming when she was 10, and Costa Rica when she was 11. We loved every trip and she made life long friends, but when asked without a doubt she says Costa Rica was her favorite trip of her entire life. It was filled with great activities, looking for animals, white water rafting, ziplining, snorkeling. Highly recommend Costa Rica with kids!!

I'd start off with one of the European ones - whichever peaks your interest.

Yes, use Dreams Unlimited.
