Hope everyone is having a good day. I'm counting down my days left of work before Christmas! Glad I have a couple days off work before flying down for Christmas. (We are lucky that our office closes for 5 days + the 3 stat holidays + 2 weekends so everyone gets a nice break at christmas. - it isn't paided but the money is taken out throughout the year so still get a paycheck
Judy - you need to take care of yourself, even if that means not typing, I understand if you can't do replys! *I need a figure-waging smily* As I was typing I got a phone call, some of the furniture I ordered is in. I've been waiting a while. It gives me more to do before I leave but it will help make my house more organized before I leave. I have to get the house is shape for my house-sitter anyways, this will help!Glad David liked the feedback on the pens, They are beautiful, I'm sure even better in person. And the prices are very reasonalbe, I know they can go for quite expensive on sites like etsy. Lisa - Wow, 16 days are going to fly by!!! Prayers for all in need

I have wanted to share a little news about my Dad. Last week was full of MD appointments both for him (atypical) and for us (typical). My Mom even required two MD appts due to her eyes. The most significant one for Dad was the oncologist. Dad has stage IIB cancer and requires chemotherapy in order to prevent any metastasis. The great news was it had not spread to any lymph nodes. The facts I know are Dad had 2 primary sites in the same lung, he developed pneumonia and had a lung collapse of the middle lobe and it was in his chest wall. This could very well be the reason, coupled with inadequate care when he was first transferred out of the unit, that Dad became so sick while inpatient. I have been processing this for a week now. Dr. F told us Dad needed to be MUCH stronger in order for him to receive chemo. The prognosis is what it is and I don’t want to discuss it here. Chemo improves that prognosis. On a happy note, Dad’s pain has improved considerably, which helps his quality of life...especially when his lungs continue to improve. The pulmonologist told us Dad could and should be walking more, which was a huge relief to me in view of the fact we had lunch at a little diner in between his three MD appts. Dr. J said Dad should work up to thirty minute walks and when I asked if he was a good candidate for pulmonary rehab, he said ABSOLUTELY! Hopefully that will get in place after the first of the year and maybe my Mom will be able to join him. She has COPD and benefited greatly from pulmonary rehab several years ago, before they made her stop due to her BP. Her new nephrologist has helped her so much, her BP is typically very good for her. Mom’s biggest problem at the moment is her eyes and her Macular Degeneration. It has gotten worse in the past two weeks and last week treatment began with a new injection in her eye which will have to be administered every month for the rest of her life. Definitely not pleasant; however, it should hopefully save some of her vision. My children are as stable as they can ever be and I will happily take that. I am so incredibly glad to hug them, to tell them how much I love them and to Thank God they are with me. Life isn’t perfect, nor is there health...but I am grateful. Rachel and Lisa both played at the Booth Playhouse Theater at the Blumenthal Center this weekend and they were amazing as always. Poor Pete took Lisa’s video and even though I have stabilized the image as best as I can, Pete was shaking so much it affected the quality of the video and Lisa’s sound, especially at the end. He let me tape Rachel, my hands are rock steady (good thing too, since I used to work in the OR...on eyes, through a microscope). If you would like to see the videos, leave me a message and I will post them. I finally got someone else to come out and give me an estimate on the roof from the wind damage (he has kept me dangling since JULY)...it is close to what the insurance company has approved, The problem is we also need the new siding to keep the bats out...$8,000. And we are in desperate need of new windows. Of the 28 windows in our house nearly all of them let in cold air due to broken seals. It makes the house extremely cold. Even giving me the best price he could on it, the price to replace them is $5,040. I know Santa isn’t giving me an extra $13,000...but he IS the cheapest we have found to do the job and he knows my sister, he worked for her both on her house and when she worked for her old job he worked for their HOA, so I know his work is solid. Life is always about the money, and we always need it. We don't have it, so it is a moot point at the moment. David said if he could sell his pens for $1,000 each, then our problems would be solved for this crisis. He is a sweetheart. After our MD appointments today, we are going to my parents for lunch, then take them out for Dad to walk and Mom to do some grocery shopping. Tomorrow Dad sees his cardiologist. I will miss the appointment Lisa has an in studio dance recital and I can’t miss that! I told them when they made the appt, I would not be able to take them, so my brother will drive. It will be hard for me to not be there and hear what is said. The girls are also performing tomorrow at one of the Children's Hospitals, it is always fun. This year Rachel will play a few songs with her Jazz Camp Instructor, then Lisa and Rachel will have their own set. We didn’t find this out until Monday, so they have only had a few days to put it together...and they are doing it all by themselves. They have very little time to practice today with all of our running around; however, I KNOW they are having fun, so that is all that matters. The sick children will just be happy to have a diversion! Stay safe in this insane world and remember to Thank God for your blessings...and His Son! Tracy, I didn’t do ANY responses, as you see. It has taken me since Monday to get all of this typed up. I am just thankful to have a hand to hurt! Have a FABULOUS trip and stay safe! Andrea, how was the party? Krystal, hope you are all healing. Lisa, so bummed about the package. WHERE could it be??? I hope my next two pieces of mail find their way to your house! Tink, did you post pics of JJ's performance on your TR? Which one? Michelle will try to email before I leave! I am behind on my PM's again, but I have to go to bed for a few hours, it will be 6 before I know it. Forgive me, I am not trying to ignore anyone. Continued prayers for ALL! |

I did not post pictures of JJ's performance. In your Christmas card I did enclose a picture from the performance. I think it was yesterday you asked about Michele. She is still having problems stitting at the computer. I'm not sure if her phone has internet access and she is lurking or not? I know her thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. |

Hi Judy! I am very sad to hear your dad still needs chemo after all he's been through. I hope he does well with it. I'm especially upset to hear about your mother's vision -- one eye or both? My dad had it in both eyes but was thankfully only legally blind in one.
The party went well. I am still staying busy and a few other things going on so may be sparse. BTW, on the video you sent me of Lisa's last performance I could not hear it well and everyone was sleeping so I didn't want to crank the volume too loud. I decided to go back today since no one was home but it won't let me see the video now. Feel free to shoot me a link to David's website -- right now all I can do is admire though. Like you, we have tons that needs to get done at our house and no spare change to do any of it. Someday! |

Judy, so sorry to hear your Dad will have to undergo chemo. Sounds like some tough discussions have occured in the past week. My heart goes out to you. I recently had a birthday (ssshhh) and while getting older was not too painful.....learning and dealing with those around you getting older and all that comes with that is the hard part. But we have a bright new year coming up and we will all "pull up our bootstraps" as they say and keep on trudging together. Take care!!!

sounds like your dad enjoyed his day ![]() I did get the video's, thanks! the girls were terrific! David sent me the tracking #, didn't show up yesterday, probably today will let you know! The PO isn't going to be any help on the first package since they have no way to track it...we just have to keep hoping it shows up here or sent back to you. hope you have a wonderful day! Megan's out of school, having a lazy morning then have a few errands to do this afternoon! continued P & PD to all in need

Judy, it sounds like your dad is rallying and trying to make the best. As long as he still has that kind of attitude there is hope. My dad is getting radiation now, which is a nice break from the chemo, then back to chemo and another Tcell transplant (the last one gave him almost a year cancer free, so we are hoping for the same). It is so hard to see someone you love go through this, you don't really get it until you live it. My mom does the lion's share of the work, so I told her since I am off over the holidays I will give her a day "off" when she can get her hair done or get to her own dr. I don't know how you get anything done at home trying to juggle all the needs of your family, I am convinced you never sleep!

We have been pretty busy! Getting ready for the holidays and our annual trip to Disneyland. Other than that we are doing pretty good.
Got the link now got to decide which one I want to get for my mom. Probably going to do it for her birthday since we've already ordered her Christmas present. My sister and I went in together and got her a big picture of all 6 of her grandkids done. She's going to be so surprised and love it!!! Continued prayers for you family!!
