Andrea, hope the party goes well! Sounds like so much fun (except for the non-committal one, what a pain!).
I had a panic moment yesterday. I called the school to see if they had assigned kindergarten classes yet, since I hadn't heard anything regarding my youngest. I'd called a couple of weeks ago and was told I didn't need to speak to the registrar, that she'd be e-mailing all the kindy parents in the next few days. When I didn't hear anything, I put in a call yesterday to discover that somehow my son didn't get put on the list and has no space for next year!! It is a charter school, so it is all done by lottery, but because my older kids are in there, and we are a founding family, he is supposed to get sibling priority and automatically be given a spot. But since they already did the drawing and assigned all the spaces, the best she could do for me was put me on the waiting list after 23 other kids with an "Oops, sorry about that. You must have made a mistake back when you filled out the paperwork or something." Aaack! So our best chance is that 23 families move away before next August (yeah, right! There's only 100 kids per grade level). I will need to enroll him in the school around the corner as our plan for next year, which will be fun when it comes to getting everyone where they need to be on time in the mornings! My Mom keeps reminding me that the Lord knew this was going to happen and not to worry about it, but I have to admit that I was up quite a bit last night thinking about it and trying to figure out what went wrong! What a mess. At least I found out now, because regular enrollment for kindergarten is in a couple of weeks, so we discovered the mistake before all the local school's spots were taken, too. Judy, hope you were able to get everyone where they needed to go the last couple of days. Also hope your Dad is seeing some improvement.

Morning, hope everyone has a good friday. You all are in my prayers.
I have lots to do to get ready for Christmas this weekend. I'm feeling a little guilty that I never hung lights, but I couldn't find a ladder longenough to reach my eves to string lights. I fly down on the 23rd for Christmas. We had to change Christmas Dinner to my sister's house because my grandma is not up to hosting (Even though me and my mom do all the cooking, it's still alot of work hosting). So my uncle will drive my grandparents over to my sisters house for Christmas. My sister is so funny. My mom had called my sister's house to ask her about Christmas and she wasn't home so she talked to my brother-in-law about it. Then I talked to my sister and her first comment was: Christmas at my house, but then I'll need to get a tree!

Hope all is well, Judy! Kayrosek, so sorry to hear of your friends' loss! How absolutely tragic! I have cried so much and keep holding my Kaitlyn close!
Been busy busy trying to get Christmas gifts made. Have to finish my MIL's, two cousins, my aunt, and my mom's. I also have to start breaking down the guest/sewing room so it's ready for the big move redo into Kaity's new room!! Praying for all!

Prayers for Alissa, Robbie and all those who lost loved ones in the tragedy this week. I can't imagine the pain they are all facing.

BeesKnees - we have a lot of school choice where I live, and siblings are supposed to stay together. I know in our district there have been times when they forgot to put a folder of applications in for the lottery, or when they made big mistakes. Don't take the school's word that you made a mistake on the form,it is equally likely that THEY made a mistake. I would ask to see my form to see what "mistake" I made. I bet they just missed your application. If you want all your kids in the same school, ask some questions on this.
When it was time for my second one to enter high school they mistakenly assigned her to a different school from the one her brother was attending. I had made such a stink over the errors they made in the process the first time through with him that someone from the central office called and apologized for the error in #2's placement and told me they had already corrected it even before I received the notice in the mail. they make a lot of mistakes, and if you start asking questions I bet they will find a way to get your child in. |

My past week was full of disappointments, worries and how are we going to do the things that need to be accomplished with a hopeful attitude and no money...and then Friday happened and evil once again hit this country square in the face...and it puts everything in perspective. Krystal, I am incredibly sorry for your friend’s loss and for all of those suffering through this horrific ordeal. It has weighed so heavy on my heart, as I know it has the entire country.
I have also received news that a very dear DIS friend is incredibly ill. PLEASE pray for her healing there are so many needs because of this. Also, David’s pen website is ready to launch. If you are interested, please send me a PM with your email address and I will send you the website info. I am having difficulty typing with my right hand, hence my absence. I have much to share and may people I want to respond to. Tink, Thanks for letting us know about Michele, she has been MIA for over 2 weeks. Can’t wait to see pics of JJ! I am so thankful you all continue to lift each other up, even when I can't log in. |

Hope you week goes better. Well, it officaly is starting to feel like Christmas, it was the community Christmas concert tonight. It's a lovely event. It's held in the Catholic Church because they have a beautiful building with great acoustics but it's really the whole community comming together. Other Church coirs sing, the elementry school choir, and lots of diffrent groups. They also have 'sing-alongs.' I think my favoret was the highschool music teach went up with his boys - three under 5- and they sang. The youngest was being goofy and his big brother was trying to get him to stay nicely by his side. So cute. Praying for all, and hope you have a good week.

Thanks to all who have been praying for those affected in CT. including Robbie and Alissa. In case you have seen the pictures thier daughter is the sweet blond haired blue eyed Emilie whos picture has been shown so much on facebook and in media coverage.
Judy,I love the newest updates to your MAW TR. Im not sure if I commented on Lisa being famous but Im so glad she got her wish! Sorry I havent been around too much. We all had the flu for a week and are just starting to come back from it. John took the flu especially hard and has seemed to go down hill so Im anxiously awaiting his Cardiology apt this week to talk to him about how John is doing. We are also trying to prepare for a Christmas visitor this week. Long story short my kids have a half sister whos parents will be away working over Christmas so she is coming here to spend Christmas with her half siblings. Im not quite sure where we will put her as my house is full to overflowing as it is but thats okay. Im sure the kids will have fun getting to know her better.
