Good morning, all! Lisa, Megan's room is so beautiful (and clean!!! My kids could learn a thing or two! )! Angel's momma, so sorry to hear that Angel has been through unnecessary procedures, that must just break your heart. Glad to hear her diagnosis has been downgraded a bit, though. I guess all you can do is move forward with what you know now instead of dwelling on the "what ifs". So happy to hear that her wish granters are scheduled - that will be such an exciting day for all of you!

Andrea, sorry to hear your weekend wasn't as restful as it could have been; hope you were able to get the nightgowns done for your daughter's friend. I found out at church yesterday that they ordered a men's size small costume for my son for the Christmas program, even though he is easily one of the smallest 10-year-olds ever....surprise, surprise, it is way too big! The lady in charge said she was going to measure him yesterday after church, and then could I please just cut the costume down to fit? Grr...if I had known they were going to do that, I would have just offered to make one from scratch to fit him. Remaking a costume is going to take a LOT more time than just starting from the beginning! I assumed they were going to use costumes leftover from other years, so what possessed them to order new ones this year boggles my mind. Oh, and then she forgot to bring it last night for AWANA so I could get started this week, so she'll just get it to me next week if she remembers - the pageant is on the 16th! I'm thinking I may just go ahead and see what I can make up here at home for him instead of waiting until the last minute. I know the longer we wait, the more crowded the calendar is going to get. I'm happy to work on costumes, just wish I'd had a bit more of a heads up, KWIM?

My littlest guy had a playground accident at school on Friday when he fell off one of those spinning carousel thingys and took all the skin off half of his behind. We have it bandaged up pretty well, but he is walking like a 90-year-old man and would NOT sit at all yesterday for church, not that I could blame him. He was so pitiful and kept telling his teacher that he would rather just stand for Sunday School, thank you very much, and I had to discreetly explain what had happened, much to his 4-year-old embarrassment. Poor kid - I bet it will be a long time before he tries that particular piece of equipment again!

Judy, I hope you are able to get everything done that you need to this week. I am tired just reading your list! We are continuing to pray for all who have requested it.

Just a quick pop-on. I need to get busy sewing Christmas gifts and I am behind schedule. Wish I would have realized when I bought directional fabric that I can't make a circle skirt with it (which was the plan for our niece) because half of it will be upside down--at least I realized it before I cut it out. New plan for her skirt (using the same primary fabric), but a more labor intensive one. Didn't get into my sewing room at all this weekend as we put our tree up Saturday and lights outside yesterday--BUT our house is all decorated for Christmas and Kaity loves it!

My hamstring is still hurting, we skipped our "easy" run this weekend, but I think it's better to keep resting it than push through and be unable to do the race at Disney at all! I've been doing some squats and I think they are helping a bit.

LOVE David's pens. Those are works of art! Lisa, love the new room for Megan, and those scrapbooked Mickey heads are amazing! Andrea, hope the water heater is not too bad of a fix! What rotten news.

Prayers for all the medical, financial, and other needs mentioned here.

Okay, I better step away from the computer and get my boo-hiney into the sewing room so I can get the skirt for our niece cut out and done today and hopefully get some other projects cut out as well!

Lisa is a beauty in her Belle dress!!! Very, very pretty in front of the tree. She did a great job on the angel. It is so sweet!!

David's pens are amazing. He is one talented young man!! Let us all know when he does start to sell.

Megan's room and the boards are adorable!

All the trees are great that everyone is posting - I must get busy tonight and decorate some. I am going to do two this year with one being an old aluminum tree decorated only with ornaments that we found in my grandparents attic this past year. I'll take a picture and post when I get it up.

Okay - most important news.......just reserved our room and flight for Disney trip the end of Feb!!!! Most of it will be work for me but will have some play time for DH and I to enjoy the parks. Looking forward to it!!! Anyone going during that time?

Prayers for all those with medical and "life" issues.

Thank you Amy. I had a playground accident from a Merry go round as a child, very painful. I hope your little guy heals quickly and that your fingers are better each day.

Mostly a typical week, just extra with Dad's stuff. I am at woodworking at the moment and borrowed one of the guys computer, a rarity...

LOVED the boards on the wall, you all did a fantastic job.

Jenny, I hope you continue to heal and that the sewing is fun and quick and not too expensive! Thank you for the pen love for David, he wanted to make a very special pen tonight and realized when we got here he needs more supplies, sigh...

Thank you very much for the sweet/kind words about Lisa. She DID look and sound beautiful and I am so fortunate to be her Mom.
David's pens are amazing. He is one talented young man!! Let us all know when he does start to sell.
He does have a gift with his hands that is certain. I think we might try a website first, just to show what he has...

Please do, that will take me back to the past! I lost so many beautiful vintage ornaments when our house burned down and it will bring a smile to my face to see yours!

AHEM, Did anyone else notice that Lisa B. posted this when she knew I wouldn't be home. I was lucky to make the first page of her PTR and that was only because this kind gentleman let me use his computer/wifi!

Lisa looks so pretty in her Belle outfit!! Love her angel and your tree is very pretty!! We have the same Mickey on our fireplace. We got both him and Minnie a couple years ago after Christmas so maybe you can still get her at a decent price.

WOW What a busy week a head of you!!

Just keep me posted on the pen front. Cuz I'd love to get one for my mom who love's that type of stuff.

And I STILL can't get the video uploaded, Christian had planned to help me this afternoon.

I will share pics of the lovely Lisa and Shannon's GORGEOUS outfit! FYI, my Lisa MADE the sweet angel on top of our tree just before Thanksgiving...I was dually impressed and she has the place of honor on top of our tree. (which is smaller this year, due to space constraints).

And David's pens are amazing! Josh used to make pens... I still have a few of his beautiful ones... He finally gave up a few years ago, and sold his pen lathe - he didn't have anywhere to set it up in this house. So, I know how much agonizing and detailed work goes into them, and how difficult it is to work with all the different woods and other materials... I used to sit downstairs in the old house and watch Josh turn them... So, David - I think they are beautiful and you truly have a talent for working with your hands.

Judy - I am still here, still reading and still praying. Your last few weeks and months have been so crazy - I am not sure I could keep up as well as you have. (((Hugs)))

Rough night for my Dad, he had to go to the hospital for a catheter after the home care nurse caused him to bleed when he had distress in the middle of the night. It was quite disappointing because yesterday he was doing so well and making excellent progress. We have to call the Vascular surgeon and get him in today, I do not yet know how that changes our 2 MD and one dental appt of the day.

Ruth, how was your first day back at work?

This is David’s latest creation, It is his best pen yet and the design embedded inside is amazing...There is one spot that looks like an art funky heart and I think there are glimpses that appear like Mother of Pearl in the design as well (obviously it is not). It is gorgeous, if I do say so and taking a page from D, I plan to help him try to auction this on Facebook, IF I can figure out how to do it...not sure if you need Tax ID’s set up to sell on FB, it just came to me during the long night this might be the way to go...

Prayers continue for all in need. I have a few things to finish before the surgeon’s office opens. I NEED a nap.

Thank you Sandra, I appreciate that, she was radiant and so excited to sing. As for Minnie, well lets just say there can be no extra's right now. But I can look!

I will, did you see one she might like or do you have a style/color in mind?

I will tell David what you said D, he will be so pleased...and will wish that he could have bought Josh's lathe! He REALLY wants one, he gets so much pleasure from turning those pens. It is difficult to work with some of the pen mediums, that is certain. Did Josh also turn bowls or anything else? David loves it.

Thank you for the prayers, they are what has gotten us through. I just do what has to be done. I would like a little respite from it all though...

I am so sorry about your dad, I hope he is able to go home soon.

That pen is just gorgeous! No, you don't need a Tax ID to sell on FB... but if you make more than $500, you need to claim it on taxes. There may be some variations to that for your state though? How about Etsy? That may be easier to sell on, since it is for crafters... If you need help with any of it, let me know - I am happy to help.

I wish I would have known you back then... He sold everything with it, at a very good price... All of his boxes and boxes of pen blanks... waxes... and those tools (can't remember what they are called)

Josh never did bowls or anything else - all he had was the small pen lathe, and from what he told me, he would have needed a bigger lathe to do any of that. I do think he may get back into it some day, like after he retires?
