Sorry about the lack of water and the toilet needing flushing (I know I shouldn't laugh, but I just couldn't help it -- ). But I'm glad it wasn't off for too long. I hope the rest of the day went more smoothly.

We had no water, but we did have sandwiches...boring....I know.... Dinner tonight was much better...baked chicken, homemade mac and cheese, salad, corn and broccoli...yum!

I know, yuck right?

Glad you have water!!! you may think your talking to yourself but I'm sure someone is listening
It was funny because it was the first time in weeks I was home for a solid two hours and I had no water and no one was "talking" on here when I looked.

Hope your Dad continues to improve!
Thank you!
Don't think rest is killing the headache I have so better find the aspirin. I have a mountain of laundry to put away and a gift to finish sewing so I can start on Kaity's Christmas dress in time for pics in a couple weeks.
I have had a headache for two days, so I feel for you. I wish I could whip things up like that, what a talent! Don't forget my pics....

Wow!! Where to start with us. My father in law is in limbo right now. One day he's doing good the next not so much. They just lost their dog to old age so they are having a hard time dealing with that.
I am so sorry! I know that entire scenario is tough.
I just found out that my biological father lied about having cancer to get sympathy from me. What a way to aleinate your daughter whose life you were out of of 26 years. That's not the way to get me to like you!!
That is outrageous Sandra! It makes you just shake your head, doesn't it.
Finally celebrated my DD's 4th and my DS's 2nd birthday (a month late!!!!) and they had a great time sharing my DD's Preschool with the family! Been busy working in my DD's Co op Preschool and my 5 year old DS's classroom. They both love having me work in their schools.
WOO HOO for BD celebrations! I remember the days of working in the school, the children LOVE having Mom there I know!
Kids had a great Halloween!! The boys were both Jake and my DD was Izzy from Jake and the Neverland Pirates (I'll have to post a pic once I get some uploaded. They turned out really cute!!)
Pictures...I need Pictures.....
There's so much more but I feel like my busy day's can't even compare to yours!! (Not that I'm trying cuz I'm not!!!!)
Busy days are busy days! Some are worse than others...
Still praying on a daily basis for your family and hope your dad can come home sooner rather than later!!
Thank you!!!

I understand!
Thank you all for the prayers for Alexa. Two nights ago she was her normal self and last night she was crying again, only couldn't explain why. I have an Amazon order which I haven't placed yet (was hoping to delay it to next month's credit card statement) and in the order I have the AG book The Care and Keeping of You and The Feelings Book. I am going to order them today and start her with The Feelings Book as soon as it arrives. Maybe it will help her express herself better and also I'm hoping it teaches her sensitivity toward what she directs at others.
We have those books, both awesome! The feelings journal was good for Lisa as well. I am so sorry my little niece is having a tough time, tell her Auntie Judy loves her very much!
We also have an offer on our house -- don't get excited. I'm sure the buyer's realtor was embarrassed to submit it. We owe $25K more than the offer. We did counter but our realtor is quite certain they are looking for a bargain, though English is not their first language and she has a hard time understanding them. I can say that so far our new realtor is so much better than our last one. She's probably had more showings in 1.5 months than our previous one had in several months.
Glad you have a new realtor, sorry for the insulting bid...let them know you AREN'T desperate! Well, maybe but not that much!
Judy -- how is your Dad progressing? I hope all is going smoothly.
Update shortly!
Prayers for Emily and her surgery today.
It is HARD to travel hours away, My prayers are with you both!! AND, the rest of the family! Kelly, update when you can!
Lisa -- hope Haiti preparations are without difficulty and that Megan is doing well with them. I am so sorry I have not been over on your thread in ages. I don't know where my time is going, but I feel so disorganized and am working to getting back in the swing of things.
I love Lisa so and she is not working on a PTR or anything...
I am missing so many comments but must head to get the kids going for school. I hope I can find time to go back and properly comment. Please know my thoughts and prayers are with all of you who post on Judy's thread. I feel like we're all one big family
We ARE a big family and I LOVE it! Most of you accept me warts and all and I THANK YOU for that!

hope your dad had a restful day!
Update coming!
continued P & PD for him and all others in need!

Tink, I love all your photos from the parties!

Andrea, those books are GREAT, written so girls can understand what isgoing on with their bodies and language they can understand....my TR is done, so no worries on getting over there...I've been doing quick drive by's this week too....hope the house price will come up to a decent price! and things will settle down for you! just waiting on getting Megan's meds for the trip from her DR, the MA dropped the ball last week, we are ready to go and both are feeling very peaceful about going to Haiti!
SOOOO, did the unhelpful MOA have her ducks in a row today??? I know you were calling bright ad early!

The MAW walk looked fun. We always do the Autism walk here and I think we will do the Epilepsy walk this year as Team Fairly Odd Ducks in honor of Tessa's love of fairys and Jonnies love of Ducks. Tessa drew the cutest picture of a duck with fairy wings and a wand that I would love to put on shirts for that walk. Seems only appropriate that we participate in that one since this year has brought two diagnosis of epilepsy to our family.

John is home now. He has to wear a life vest (external defibulator) 24 hrs a day because his heart is not strong enough to risk placing a pace maker and internal defibulator yet. They are hoping maybe in three months. His heart rate kept going into tacchycardia yesterday and making the vests siren go off and say "treatment pending, bystanders do not interfere." Thankfully it never had to actually shock him, so far his heart is normalizing itself but I was on edge all day. Hopefully today will be less stressful. John wants to go with us to the Shriners circus tonight if he feels up to it. He has neverbeen with me to take the kids to a circus so this time would be special for them.

My prayers go out to your family Judy and to all those in need here.
Krystal, I have bene willing you to call or post, Thank you! Glad John is home, but WOW how scary! I don't even want to imagine what you are going through. My niece's sorority did the autism walk last week. She dedicated the money she raised to David. LOVE your team name and idea, that is so cool!! I hope you are all able to enjoy the circus and make some great memories! Christian is much better, Thank you!

You SHOULD laugh, that was the point! I was determined to laugh so the devil couldn't get his foot in the door. The rest of Wednesday was wildly busy, but no big difficulties. I am SO excited for Mark's surprise, I am loving all of the details! You and Nicky are great partners in crime...

My Mom needed to have her renal ultrasound today, so I left the house shortly after 7 to pick her up, the weather was horrid. I got her to her 8:30 appt without incident and it went quicker than expected. We were at the hospital before 10 and she had a small bite to eat so she could have her morning meds. I was so encouraged to visit my Dad today. He still has a lot of healing to do and he is a long way from being well; however, he looked stronger to me and seemed determined to work hard to get well. He had both OT and PT while I was visiting. He remains on isolation, although the staff is less than compliant about it. Mom and I dont have a problem speaking up about it either, someone told Mom one of the patients had MRSA and we DONT need that. It is irritating to see a lackadaisical attitude over isolation. Yes, Mom and I continue to speak up about it and I went in search to the head nurse on my way home; however, he was not in the unit. I dont want anything else to delay Dads healing. The nurse told us it definitely wouldn't be before Monday, but they are discussing when my Dad moves from the unit to a step down room, that scares him to pieces, that is what happened to him when he got so sick, they moved him too quickly. He would love to be home by Thanksgiving. I am just not sure that is feasible, although if he continues to make such great strides I think it could be possible. We don't want to rush anything. He is in the best place, for now. His oxygen was down to 5 liters today!!! (That is down from 8 liters yesterday)! It just felt like great news all around! Our BIG prayer request is for my dads mouth. He has sores and ulcers throughout and it has caused him misery for multiple days. Eating has been a chore he can hardly bare to do, and he needs the nutrients. We need his mouth to heal completely. 4 weeks ago today my Dad had his surgery...it seems like 6 months.

In other news Christian had his Neurology follow-up yesterday and the doc was irritated we hadnt had any of the neuropsych testing done. He backed off when I told him to blame his office, they set the appt for JANUARY 24, 2013. I so prefer Pediatric docs. Christian has another MD appt. next week with a new doc to check out a few more things as well. This we have also had MD appts for the girls...but none for David, much to his delight. It is just insanely busy right now. I REALLY appreciate your sticking with us and reading.

Now it is time for baths and medicines...

So glad to hear your Dad is making progress. I pray that his mouth can heal so he can eat! It has been a long journey since his surgery and I hope he doesn't have any more set backs.

Frustrating about Christian's doc.

Oh, and I didn't tell you the best thing- I am going to my grandma's for Christmas! But she has said she dosn't want anything for christmas this year because she has too much 'stuff' in her house. So I need to think about something that is 'consumable' for her. Anyone have any good ideas?

Yeah it is but they seem to be taking it ok right now. I'm just afraid they are going to go get another ankle biter!! The one that just passed was that and more!! The first time I met that dog as I was walking to the bathroom it ran up behind me and bit me in my ankle and ran cuz I turned around so fast if he wouldn't have moved he would have learned to fly (I love animals and would never hurt one intentionally it's just that he started it!!!). Luckily he got more of my shoe than my ankle. He was a very small dog so he didn't do any damage and I was never afraid of it. Then after we started having the kids he would literally sit at my mother in laws feet and growl under his breath at the kids. It was not a protective growl it was a I'm going to attack growl. That dog spent lots of time outside after I caught him doing that.

It does. It makes me wonder what is going through his sick head. He walked out on me and my sister right around my 2nd birthday and I was stupid enough to find his family 26 years later. He called me in January and told me he had cancer of the spine and they would be starting treatment within the next month. He was given 3 - 6 months. They never started treatment, he's never shown any signs of someone who has cancer, he has nothing but excuses on why he keeps cancelling his so called appts. Just makes me crazy. Oh and the lies just keep coming: supposedly he was sending the kids gift cards for their birthday, his excuse is he misplaced them, supposedly sending them Xmas presents with the missing gift cards, not holding my breath on that one!! It just drives me crazy!!! Also makes me glad he was out of my life for so long!!!! The only good thing that came out of finding him is I am now getting to know my sister and 2 brother's he had from another marriage.

I fully understand what you mean, my parents dog can be like that at times and it is scary, she doesn't like many people other than my parents, but tolerates us. Bandit on the other hand is VERY different. If he doesn't care for you it is very telling, he is an excellent judge of character.

It does. It makes me wonder what is going through his sick head. He walked out on me and my sister right around my 2nd birthday and I was stupid enough to find his family 26 years later. There is a good reason he wasn't in your life for so many years. I hope you can have a relationship with your siblings outside of one with your Dad. I think that would be the easiest way for me. He sounds like a very self-absorbed man. YOu are DEFINITELY the polar opposite of that!

They sure do love having me there!! So do the other kids!!

I know it makes them ALL feel good inside!

Working on it.... I Promise!!

David is working out at the Aviation Museum today; however, only half a shift, so I will take him, then go to Mom's pick her up. Dad wants us to bring him some eggs from home. Hope they stay warm! Of course, i took my Mom a Bacon and Egg sandwich last week from home and she said it was still warm when I arrived, so we shall see...I will stay at the hospital, because by the time I drive over, P/U MOm and get her to the hospital if I drove home, I would have to turn around and pick David up in about an hour, so I will visit for a while with my parents instead. Then take him home and get Lisa for her MD appt. As for the weekend, well...let's just say it is gong to be a bit .

Looking forward to Thanksgiving and the MD offices are CLOSED and Pete is off!

Just stopping by for a quick hello.

Continued prayers for your dad... I hope he doesn't try to rush himself to get better just to be home for the holidays - as I am sure he wants to be very badly.

I am very glad I copy and pasted your directions right away - LOL Maybe I will get brave soon and try making dumplings again. The standard joke in the house lately is that everything I make is boiled... So, I've been making every attempt to stick to this theme as much as possible. I would hate to disappoint.

I hope you have a wonderful day today and everything goes smoothly for you this weekend.

D~

Glad to hear your dad is doing better!

Hope your mom's appt goes well today.

We have had a busy morning. JJ has already been to the doctor AND finished his entire day of school. He was so proud of himself because he has never finished this early in the morning. Now he can enjoy his day and I can attempt to get the house in order for company. Dh's parents arrive tomorrow for a week.

Judy, I'm so glad dad's oxygen is better. As much as he wants to go home and as much as you would like him home, he really shouldn't rush it. I've been in that sitaution before of my dad being rushed home only to end up back at the hospital a few days later. Please tell him to be patient and heal first.

Glad to hear that your dad is doing better. I hope the sores in his mouth clear up so he will be in less pain and can be more comfortable. I can not believe that the hospital staff is so lax about trying to keep someone in isolation from getting an infection. Isn't that the whole point??? I guess they are not worried about getting anything from their patients either. I'm happy to hear that your mom is speaking up to protect your dad. I know you are a great advocate but that his not something that everyone is comfortable with. You are a great influence!

I hope Christian can get some news from the doctor when he has his tests.

Thanksgiving will be a nice reprieve from the doctors office visits and all the running around. I hope your dad continues to improve.

Emily's surgery was delayed a couple of hours but she went back about 10:45. She was back in the recovery area by 12:15. She was awake and talking to me. That is always a good sign! She asked for juice and then crackers. It was amazing she was doing so well! Once she'd eaten that she asked me to get her a sandwich. I walked over to the little sandwich shop and she was very happy to eat the Italian sub she asked for!
We are staying at a lady's home in Lanham, MD. She very generously opens her home to our neurosurgeon's patients. It is like a bed and breakfast for surgery recovery. Emily has been resting a lot. She's battling nausea and her incision site is sore and tender. She's had a headache on the left side of her head and I hope it is from adjusting to the new pressures. She will see the doctor again on Monday. She is having TIA symptoms and will see the hematologist on Tuesday.
Hope your dad continues to improve. Love and prayers to all. xo

So sorry to read Alexa is going through such an emotional time.

But so happy to read that you have some interest on your house.

My Grandmother use to love the baskets from Harry & David. Or maybe some gift cards to a local resturant.
