Morning, Judy hope you have a good day and are safe on the wet roads. Hope your dad continues to improve. Long hospital stays are discouraging but you know he needs to wait until his ready. Hopfuly your mom sees the wisdom in that too. I hope he does get a chance to get outside and around, even though it didn't happen this weekend.
Hope Christian is feeling better.
The dumplings look yummy.

Praying for all that need it.

Andrea I hope your daughter is feeling better today. I am praying she sees the greatness in herself.

That's too bad that your dad didn't get outside and that he will be in the hospital for another 2 to 3 weeks. I hope and pray he heals quickly.

I hope you get some rest. Your day sounds very busy.

Sorry to read that Christian isn't feeling well.

Dumplings sound good! Glad you were able to have a DIS meet and a good time at the walk and get a break from everything that's going on.

Alyson, I hope it is at least pretty if is snows and the week flies by so you can be back home with DH! Glad you are getting lots of info though. Did you bring any yarn to crochet/knit (I can't remember which one it is).
No never went to that track. We raced IHRA tracks and some local tracks for testing. I really miss it sometimes. Great memories with my Dad and Granddad.

Have a great day, everyone!
It is so important to make memories, life is so fleeting. We live very near the speedway; however, I am not a race fan.

None of us have ever mucked before and I personally don't think it will be enjoyable for any of us, especially since it now will be muddy and cold. And the female llama will probably spit on us -- she spit on three kids when they went for the field trip -- Ben got the best spit (if there is such a thing) as it went into his hair. One other girl got it in the eye and one in the mouth.
Mucking stalls in the rain doesn't sound like my kind of fun, yuck! Neither does spitting llamas!
Halloween pics??? Now there's an idea, except I don't even know where the camera is at the moment
PLEASE POST PICS!!! Please find the camera!
I'm sad your Dad didn't get to go outside. It was so warm out the past couple of days and the air really was fresh. I pray that your Dad continues with the baby steps and has no set backs. I also pray that your Mom can understand how crucial it is that things move slowly so they stay positive -- too much at once could cause a longer hospital stay. Also, I don't feel your Mom is capable of taking care of him at home and recognizing signs of danger.
It was pretty here for several days a well, but it is cool and damp now. Dad would have to come here if they didn't keep him long enough, that was the original plan anyway. Baby steps and no set backs suit me GREAT! Thank you for the prayers!
Prayers for your friend and if all would say a few little prayers for my little girl as well I'd appreciate it -- she is going through a period of low self esteem and it's really hard for me to see her like this. She cried herself to sleep last night even though I had and talked with her for 45 minutes past her bedtime
Oh Andrea, that breaks my heart. Give beautiful Alexa a hug for me and tell her we love her. LOTS of prayers lifted for her. We need another girls weekend!

Hi Sweet Tracy. This entire adventure has been an eye opener for my family. Pete and I have gone through most of our trials alone and they are now realizing what it takes to be in the hospital for weeks/months...and for my Dad, it has truly changed his thought process. I am sorry it has come at such a hard price. I just want him home! But, only when he is physically ready, I am glad they have realized that all around.

Hope Christian is feeling better.
He is getting there...

I will make you some if you come see me!

Thanks Tink, praying for yours also!
I hope you get some rest. Your day sounds very busy.
Rest is not for the weary, you know that! I need some Disney Therapy! So thankful for our past September trip, it has helped.
Sorry to read that Christian isn't feeling well.
He sounds rough, but is feeling better.

It WAS a welcome break, I was glad to get away a bit and I knew we were making Dad the Dumplings for Sunday, so I didn't feel guilty not being at the hospital. Praying you are feeling well and letting God lift you. Love you friend.

http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2679280&page=202 I started posting our dining experience at Be Our Guest yesterday. We ate both lunch and dinner!

Disney therapy helps!! Getting plugged into a new church is odd, but we found one that completely meets JJ's needs. He gets a buddy to take him to Sunday School and children's worship while we go to our Sunday School and the adult worship service. I need this, but I love our church and will miss seeing and worshiping with my church family.

Tink, Those pics are FANTASTIC! I am so happy you shared and that you let me know you posted. THIS will be Lisa's most favorite place in the world, I can't WAIT for her to see it! Thank you for sharing!!!

I am so encouraged you have found a church that can feed your soul and meet your needs, I have prayed for that. You can keep the relationships with those at your old church should you desire; however, this is great for JJ as well.

I missed Halloween you might all remember, my Dad was quite ill (He is leaps and bounds better than that night). Rachel was Cat in the Hat (she has had that hat and gloves since she was small, it is her THIRD time rocking that outfit. Pete made her Halloween Bucket the first year like a fish bowl with the fish and I do believe that is why she always wants to be The Cat). Lisa made a beautiful Rapunzel. I wasn’t home to do her hair as we planned, braided with flowers, so she wore it down with only one flower and she was so pretty.

Judy, love the Halloween pictures... the girls look great.

I know you've mentioned my mom and I've not done an update on her lately. She is doing remarkably well since her meds were adjusted and she came home. I had her over for dinner on Sunday night. She can't seem to sit still...she's always roaming, but other than a little confusion if you talk about too many different things, she is doing well. Well enough that my brother is confident that he and she can stay here while we are in Florida next month to take care of our Cookie dog. This was a main concern of Andy's and mine as we didn't want to put her in a kennel because she'll be 15 in two weeks and has never been in one.

I am so happy the meds are helping and that your brother is well enough to stay there with her while you take Mark on his birthday extravaganza! I wish you were close to us, we would LOVE to take care of Cookie. How IS Coolie feeling, I am just so happy she is with you still. I remember when I first found you how sick she was and I am happy she is still giving you Doggie kisses every day! Have fun this weekend with the "younguns" ...you have a busy, exciting life my dear! Now if we could both keep the excitement down to just the fun stuff!

Thank you Alyson. It is time for Lisa's three month trim, I take her in and get three inches cut off about every three months, just to keep it healthy. She loves her long hair.

Lucky Grandmom!!! She will LOVE it, I know, and even more so that you made it for her. I hope you post a pic, I REALLY admire those of you who can create things to wear and enjoy, no matter what the medium. It honestly fascinates me and I LOVE to look at them!

Good Morning everyone!
Judy, I really am going to email those photos to you this morning!
We've had a crazy week so far, as usual.
Emily's CT is negative for appendicitis, and there are no other findings. The dr here wants us to mention abdominal migraines to our neurosurgeon in MD. I had never heard of that and I looked it up. They can be caused by stress and/or other things, but one of the other things is an overproduction of histamines. Well, Em has Mast Cell Activation Disorder, so this could be the culprit. We shall see.

In the meantime, the surgery center called to gather information about her for her surgery and told me her surgery has been moved to Thursday morning at 8:15 instead of Friday. She is supposed to see a hematologist on Thursday afternoon, and no one called me from the surgeon's office to let me know. She is supposed to see the hematologist BEFORE the surgery. I have gone round and round with his office trying to get someone to call me back or something! Finally, I got his medical assistant on the phone and she said that he said it is okay and we can see the hematologist after the surgery. Great, but now we have to stay more days and will probably have to stay in MD for Thanksgiving.

I have scheduled her appt with that doctor for Tuesday next week and it is late in the day, so that takes care of Tuesday. I am worried about trying to travel on Wednesday since it is so heavily traveled and if she does have a clotting disorder, sitting in a car for hours is not the best idea. Besides, she is going to be sore. So it looks like we might be stranded in MD. My husband is going to Birmingham to be with his parents with the other girls and I hate we are going to be separated. We were whether or not we were back from MD, but I guess the reality of it is sinking in.

So, surgery is in the morning at 8:15. She is not nervous at all. She has peace that is amazing. She says she just wants to feel better.

Thank you for all the prayers.
Kelly xo

Loved the Halloween photos! Rachel makes the perfect Cat in the Hat! And Lisa makes the perfect Rapunzel! I bet that fish bowl bucket was pretty awesome!

I am much the same way... My girls will verify. LOL I have only purchased them 3 costumes in their entire lives, and then I make them wear them several years in a row. I am too cheap to spend $$ on something they wear for one night.

Thanks for the recipe directions too! I copy and pasted them right into a Word Doc. and directly into my recipe file in my docs. I really appreciate you taking the time to tell me that, with everything you have on your plate.

Still praying for your Dad and everyone else here. (((Hugs)))

D~
