We arrived Wednesday and really like POFQ. Couldn't get a better room location, in Bldg 4 close to food court. It's been nice and warm. Had a pool day yesterday. And a Po' Boy for lunch. The beef one was really good. beignets this morning!
Bus service has been great. Being a confirmed Riverside gal, wasn't sure if I'd like FQ, but it's very nice. I do think the landscaping is nicer at Riverside, but you can't beat the convenience here. I think if it was a summer trip I'd miss the quiet pools though. Going over to Riverside tonight for the Pasta Bar, yum!

http://www.portorleans.org/room-requests.php However, it might be better to ask for a room near the food court (which will also be near the bus stop) rather than ask for a particular building. The reason is that while some of the rooms in a particular building are close to the food court, not all of them are. |

I had a standard parking lot view in Oct. Second floor right next to the stairs in the middle section of the building. Was actually the best room ever. 1 minute to food court, about the same to pool and laundry, maybe 3 minutes to the boats and you walked straight out from the stairs to the parking lot where the shortcut to the bus stop was. Cheapest room best location.Plus I could barely see the parking lot for the trees in the courtyard. Only downside...my first morning I kept thinking who is vacumning at 6am...it was the parking lot cleaner truck. But that was small potatoes. Year before I was in the middle of building 5 facing the courtyard (where movies were shown) and it was 2-3 minutes to everything. Love those buildings. I think both times I used building 4 or 5 close to main building/bus stop as my request. |

We had a stay at building 5... Second floor and loved it....
Down the stairs and 20 feet to the pool bar and 10 feet more was the pool... To the right was the food court, 30 feet and outside building (main) was the bus stop... Truly ideal.... We enjoyed the compactness of this resort over POR... Did take a walk over for Boatwrights (meal there did not impress) but was a pleasant evening walk, behind our building was the courtyard where movies on the green were presented.... Take towels and lay in the grass and next building over towards POR was where marshmallows were being roasted every night. The boat to DTD can't be beat for an evening cruise getaway right out back of the resort... Like I said being so compact, this resort makes getting around quite easy!

Great review thank you! Can anyone tell me how easy it is to store the cases in the room? We are a family of four travelling from the UK for two weeks so will have a fair bit f luggage... Any info would be great.

Check out the photos of the bathroom area - under than hangers there is quite a bit of stacking room and we always put the small inside the big.
Then there is a bench near the dresser that we used for one of ours - I dont recall if you can fit one under the bench or if the bench has support bars which make it difficult - again a pic may help. Enjoy!

Thank you for your reply! I was looking at the photos but couldn't get a good idea of actual size. Hopefully we will fit them in.

We are a family of four and our total trip is usually 12 days with travel and time at the beach. Luggage space at POFQ has never been a concern. |

I apologize if this question has been brought up before - I'm only up to page 20 going through the thread
![]() If you end up at a building far from the bus stops or food court, can you rent a bike for the week? It would be cool if you could and lock it up at the food court or bus stop and save on your feet going back and forth! |
