Since POFQ is so small, where are the smoking sections? My son suffers from asthma and I do not want him to have to walk by/throught the smoking section to get to our room. I am going to put in a room request to be as far away from the smoking area as possible but the map doesn't show where they are located. Our ressies are for Nov 24, 2012, when should I call a put in my request? Thanks.

The map in the first post is a simplified one, see http://www.portorleans.org/images/Po...eans%20Map.pdf for the smoking locations too. You can put your requests in now and have them added to your booking.

I just laughed a bit and told her she was welcome Long story short, I have my room requests, the CM now knows that POFQ doesn't have preferred rooms and we're all still enthusiastically cheerful.

ok i am thinking of changing our location from the french quarter to riverside in one of the royal guest rooms if avail. garden view- what location should I request?? preferably i would like to be near one of the bus stops or pool- where is the best location for this?? any help would be appreciated. thanks

What are the movie nights like at the resort? We used to go to Fort Wilderness to eat and then spent some time roasting marshmallows at the movie site. They had characters at FW too of course. I don't expect characters but is this otherwise similar at PO?

Hello Planogirl - They have movies everynight (weather permitting) They played movies like Cars, Goofy Movie, Toy Story and Princess Movie while DD and I were there last week.

There is a campfire between the River and Building 6 everynight and I believe there is a sing along.

Last August we stayed at the POFQ. A movie was shown each night right outside our room, in a courtyard area. It was GREAT!!! Everyone brought blankets or towels to sit on in the grass. They was no marshmallow roasting at the movies. I think that was elsewhere on the property. In the Lobby was a list of which movie was playing each night. Even though my kids are older they loved sitting under the stars and watching movies with their Dad each night.

Just got back from four nights at POFQ. We were upgraded from a standard view to a river view in building 6. Very nice to walk along the river in the morning to get breakfast/coffee.

Buses were great. We left room at 7:05 to go to MK for breakfast. We waited about 3 minutes for a bus. We waited less than 10 minutes most times for a bus. There were two times we just missed a bus and had to wait about 20-25 minutes for a bus. Busy times it was only our resort not going to Riverside. That was nice.

Hey Hill6 - We also just got back from POFQ, Building 7 Garden / River Corner room. Take a look at our 2012 You Tube Video and our 2012 Photobucket and see if you recognize us. I walk every morning down the path between building 6 and the river for exersize.

Take a look at Andre's map. I would request a room in Oak Manor, closest to Magnolia Terrace, and Old Man Island bridge, You'll be near East Depot, and closer to main pool.

Then I would suggest once you have booked a Royal Garden View Room, that you request a room close to a bus stop or pool (which would most likely give you a room in Oak Manor).
