[Three cats]

I see by Andres map that there are quite a few river view king bed rooms. Has anyone had luck booking a king bed room and requesting river view? Wondering if i'd be better off just booking the river view category and forgetting about the king bed?

We've made three trips to WDW and stayed at POFQ each time. First trip -- King bed in building 5 just steps from the main building. Second trip -- King bed, building 5 on the river. Third trip -- King bed, building 6 on the river again. We did not ask, it just happens to be where we ended up.

How was building 6 in relation to pool and food court, bus stop, etc.? Thinking of requesting that building if we decide on FQ for our trip. River view

We request building four, right next to bus stop, food court which is great for us.

Honestly, the resort really is tiny in WDW terms - you could walk from the very furthest rooms to the food court in about four minutes. Building six is very nicely located and not too far to walk, you'll be very happy there.

Three cats: If you book a King Bed room you can indeed request a river view (as you've seen from the maps, there are several available) but there's always the chance you might not get it. On the other hand a River View booking will definitely face the river, but it won't have a king bed.

For those worrying about room locations, don't stress. DH and I were in building 7, on the back side facing POR, and the walk was still shorter than our walk from Cabanas at Coronado. It's a wee resort.

I'll chime in too. It's safe to say I don't like clowns.

I get sweaty palms, a pounding heart and go in to flight or fight mode if an adult in a clown costume is anywhere near me Seriously, it's a horrible reaction, panic/fear just overwhelms me. Usually I'm quite normal and easy going,

The masks didn't bother me at all. I thought they might have before we went, but I think because they were SO big and high up they were not an issue for me. However, I didn't like the life size Jester statue on the grounds, but I could avoid that easily enough.

I'm sure you can have fun on it, but it is smaller than the POR slide, so as a special destination for someone staying at POR, I think it might be a letdown.

If we stayed at POFQ, I'm sure my DS would use it, but he and Dniece and Dnephew (12, 11, and 14) would not want to make a special trip to POFQ to do the slide.

Like I said, it's just my opinion.

We also requested GV in bldg 4. I hope we get it. We are under 30 days and sooo excited!

Why thank you. Physically I may be 46 (soon to be 47) but mentally I am stuck at a much younger age. Being an older mom (dd 10 and ds 6) it does help being this way. I am the one that has to convince them to go on RnR, ToT etc.

Saturday can't get here soon enough. Just good friend and I going for four days.

I think some one needs to do a resort overlay to one of the areas in MK, so people that have not been to PORFQ understand how small it is. I know I did not grasp how small it was untill I was there.
