You know....I'd like to do a poll. How many people get sick within 2 weeks of returning from WDW? I bet it would be a high number. I know my wife got a bad chest infec. Almost immediately after returning and I got it about 5 days later.....I think there's something amuck!!!!!

First of all, let me say thank you guys for being so darn patient with me while I deal with my laryngitis. I am feeling much better now, although still getting tired, dizzy spells from time to time, my voice is starting to come back somewhat and I am feeling my energy perk up as well a bit. Nothing makes a sick person feel better like some talk about Disney, so let's get started!!
So, where did we leave off? Oh yes - we had just finished Finding Nemo & Friends and Turtle Talk with Crush. (Love that ride, and wish we rode it again later in the week, oh well, just another reason to go back, right?)Well, we had been up this day since 4:00 am, so by now we were getting pretty darn tired. So we all agreed, it was time to catch the monorail back to the beautiful, tropical Poly. When we arrived back at the hotel, DD asked me to stop and take a picture of the cute little Hidden Mickey’s in our hallway carpeting, so I did. ![]() The plan all along for the first day was Arrive in Orlando, check into the hotel, go to Blizzard Beach, head back to the Poly for Wishes on the beach and then bed. Well, obviously, my plan thus far has been thrown completely out the window. (Sure hope that isn’t a trend for the whole week…..eek!) I guess I was feeling like we weren’t sticking to my plan anyways, and feeling sort of tired, I decided to flake out and just hang out in the room while my parents and DD went and walked around the resort and waited for Wishes to start. Well, I showered and then sent a text to DH back home and when I told him that my parents and DD were down by the beach waiting for Wishes to start, he told me to suck it up and go down. I thought “Ok, I can do that. Oh wait. I forgot to give them the walkie-talkies. How will I find them in the dark!! Great, Charity, you’re such an idiot! Who comes to Disney World to sit alone in their hotel room!! Just go you dummy! Go find your family!!!” So, after having a mini-pep-talk with myself, I quickly threw on my clothes and ran outside to see if I could find my family, only to see them walking up the path from the beach right to me! Must be fate I say…….and oddly enough, this won’t be the only time this week we meet up unexpectedly in Disney World. LOL I had heard the cheesy Electric Water Pageant around half hour before, so I knew Wishes would be starting soon. We grabbed a cozy spot together on the beach swing right in front of Tahiti and waited for the show to start. I didn’t realize that the music wasn’t piped in on THIS beach, so unfortunately for us, we didn’t get to see it with music. We thought the show was spectacular anyways, that was until we saw it in the Magic Kingdom later in the week. Then we REALLY knew what Wishes was all about. But we will get to that later in the week. Anyway, my Dad took a ton of photos of both the Electric Water Pageant and Wishes, these ones being some of my favourites. ![]() ![]() ![]() After Wishes was done, we went up to our room and DD had her shower and we all got tucked into bed for the night. A quick review of our shopping purchases for the day: DD - A Minnie Mouse soccer pin for her cousin A Hook & Croc pin for herself A Canadian Flag Mickey head pin for herself Up next: Our first full park day!! Hollywood Studios!!

It would have been a shame if you missed Wishes from the beach on your first night! Glad you were able to join them. Love that last picture of the fireworks!

Hi
I just found your trip report and I'm loving it. I've secretly wanted to stay at the Poly for so long. I've been to the resort for Ohana but I really want to stay there. I can't wait to hear all about this trip.
