First Day Ship Tour Questions

Our first Disney cruise is coming up. I see on the ship Navigators that there is a ship tour offered a couple of times the first day of the cruise.

Anyone did these and have any feedback?

My mom gets lost easily and I'm thinking this might help. But I'm hesitant about the amount of walking on the tour. We are cruising on the smaller classics ship.

We've been on the Magic many times so we are quite familiar with it. Since we were not as familiar with the Dream we decided to do the tour when we went on it. I thought it was a good. Lasted about 45 minutes. They don't move very quickly and do stop to let people get caught up and to talk about a few things.

It's a great way to not only get familarized with the ship and activities but also to get some information about the ship itself. I'd recommend it There's no sign up required - you just meet at the starting point. If she has too much trouble keeping up, she can just drop out at any point.

and generally the tours start at the top of the ship and work their way down (gravity helps on the stairs). If there are people with mobility issues and need to use the elevators, they let them know what deck we are heading to next and will wait for them to arrive.

The tour also includes a few tips on how to tell which way you are heading in the corridors - look at the patern in the carpet - top of the world = front of the ship. The CM was very aware of anyone who needed additional time to catch up, sugesting elevators, we'll be in this room for a few minutes - take a seat, etc.
