I know for a fact that the Contemporary can do other flavors, but it may also depend on the cake. They can also do more than blue stars, zebra print and polka dots. I was in a similar Ariel dilemma since they don't offer a white chocolate 3D topper. If you're OK with a 2D topper, there are a number of pretty Ariel cakes in this thread and previous Cake Chatters. In fact, just a couple of pages ago is a nice Ariel cake where they positioned the 2D stand up of Ariel in some other "landscaping" to make it look less 2 dimensional. If you can get some ideas together...you can put together a sketch and call the Contemporary back and ask for Chef Brian's email to see what he can do.

Edit- just to give you an idea of what I was looking to do (which I haven't seen done), was have Ariel swimming with Flounder on the side of the cake and have a ton of edible seaweed, coral, shells, etc. going up the sides of the cake...and then off to one side, Sebastian (frustrated face) watching them through the seaweed. I'm sure they could add cake glitter/luster dust to the seaweed and coral to make it really shimmer. ***And the reason why I discarded the idea...I wanted the sandcastle topper, but didn't want to pay the high price for the sandcastle topper.

You can do other flavors in the mini cakes, but they are too small for fresh-fruit fillings. They might be able to fill it with a strawberry mousse, but you definitely need to talk to the pastry chef to be sure. Private Dining can give you the email address.

These are just ideas from Disney's recent bridal showcase, NOT official designs that you can call up and request from a list, but you might find a minicake here that you like and send it to the chef as inspiration for a similar cake: http://www.disboards.com/showthread....7#post47508357

Yeah, I saw that cake and it was gorgeous but when I asked all they said was 6inch cake with blue purple frosting and image of flynn and rapunzel. Nothing else about the embellishments I had asked for or anything, so not sure about the 2D image, the way the bakery made it sound was the edible print. So I thought the mini cake would be pretty. Plus a little cheaper and less cake to store since it is just us and they wouldn't do the white cake with bavarian for the 6 in when I asked, the told me vanilla and vanilla.

I am at least happy with this one, just hope it turns out like I requested. Will post pics when we get home

I've ordered two mini cakes. One from the Boardwalk Bakery and one from CR delivered to our meal at Cali Grill. I asked for different cake/filling options at the Boardwalk Bakery, but was told they just do standard chocolate/chocolate or vanilla/vanilla (which isn't true, but I don't like to push for what I want). The mini cake I ordered from CR bakery went much more smoothly as I basically just emailed what I wanted and they quoted me a price . I just put in the email whatever cake/filling I wanted.

The cake I ordered from the CR bakery was about $50. I ordered a white fondant covered (because I like the taste of white fondant) cake with silver/white snowflakes. Maybe you could do a purple fondant covered mini cake with sparkly seashells around it and brown sugar "sand" around the bottom? Mini cakes are kind of limited on decoration space. I think fondant covered cakes look more fancy/polished (and if I get any fondant other than white I remove it and eat the cake, it's mainly just there for looks).

All the resort meals you have listed are serviced by the Grand Floridian bakery.

Hi, everyone! I have been kicking around some ideas for my hubby's 27th bday cake. We will be staying at the Beach Club, so I am planning on ordering his cake from private dining and having it delivered to our room on his birthday.

Please let me know if you guys think this cake is possible:

-6 in chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream icing
-covered in light blue fondant
-on top of cake, 2D white chocolate cutout of young adult Carl and young adult Ellie lying on the picnic blanket, staring up at the sky
-on top, 3D molded grapefruit soda bottle top pin
-on top, 3D molded "our adventure book"
-along sides of cake, molded or pictures of balloons (red, green, yellow, and blue)
-written on top of cake (or somewhere else) - "Our Life Together is One Big Adventure"

Does that sound doable? Thanks!!

I specifically asked just to clarify. I was told that they do this all the time and they would charge my card and it would not show up on the bill. He gave me how much it would be with tax and fee. I also ordered through CRT 1 cinderella slipper and 1 crown -- for the siblings---I was told that I could not pay for this with my credit card and it would be on their bill The kind lady told me how much it would be with tax. I mailed my friend a $50 gift card to cover CRT portion--knowing that the cake would be billed to me. WRONG!!!! The morning after they ate there I went and looked at my CC --- NOTHING -- not even a hold. SO I texted my friend and after a direct question she informed me that the entire thing was on their bill. She covered the extra! I was LIVID! Had they told me up front I would have sent more money on the gift card! I even told her to use the extra to get the kids a snack or something. I felt horrible because they had to pay a portion of mt treat.

Here are the cakes: only have the wish child and her brother with the crown--there is already a slipper on the board.

So I got the gratuity credited to my Amex, and wil get the money for the cake from my friend but got attitude from the cast member at Yatchman's steak house. She said it was a prepaid cake, and all prepaid cakes have automatic gratuity added. I said 'it wasn't supposed to be prepaid, and my friend added the gratuity she felt appropriate' we wnent around and around before she agreed to refund the gratuity.

Help me....new to the cake thread but...we'll be at the World in 10 days. My bday is the Monday of our trip and celebrating at HS (my fav and home to the villains. Does anyone know if I could get a small Maleficient themed cake at 50's primetime...or delivered there? OR maybe an evil apple from the villains in vogue shop?

Thank you so much! I did send an email to Brian so I'm hoping we can work something out. I love so many of the little cakes on here, its hard to make a decision. I know my little girl will be thrilled with whatever I choose. I don't think she's expecting a cake while we're in Disney as we're also having a birthday party with friends/family at home. I think she NEEDS to have a cake on her actual birthday, especially at the Castle!!!

I am in LOVE with this little cake!! It is adorable!! I've also ordered the slipper dessert for our final night in Disney.
