Reassure me!

I am traveling to Disney with my husband, my daughter, who will be 1, and my mom in November. We were planning on staying at the Wilderness Lodge using a friends cast discount. But the only rooms available are deluxe studios in the Villas at Wilderness Lodge. We booked the rooms, but I'm having second thoughts. Will staying in a Villa be a very different experience? Should we consider a different hotel? Because we are not staying with DVC points, will we get housekeeping everyday?
Thank you!!

if you paid "cash" for the room instead of points you will get housekeeping. You will have a room with 1 queen sized bed and a pull out sofa. You will need to get a pack and play for the child or rent a crib from somewhere.

The Villa rooms were recently refurbished, if that makes a difference to you. This resort is a very good location for visiting MK, even though it is not on the monorail. The villa rooms are closer to the bus stop too!

Yes I think it is a very different experience. We did not care for the studio villas, and much preferred the lodge. As you enter the villa building it looks very nice, it was Christmas time when we were there so they had decorations up. But the studios left a lot to be desired I thought. We could smell a lot of cigarette smoke in the hallway, it was so bad we actually requested to be moved, and then the second studio they put us in was handicap accessible and had no bath tub. The room felt small and I didn't like the decor. I felt very far removed from everything while we were there. I didn't feel like I was in a deluxe resort at all. I actually would prefer a moderate resort over a studio there if I had a choice.
What were some of the other castmember discount rooms available for your trip?

I agree! We love WL but did not care for the villas at all. I felt isolated and disconnected. We own at the BW and the BWV and VWL were a totally different experience for us. We were on the first floor facing the woods and for some reason it felt creepy to me. Never felt this way at the Lodge but the villas were different. And we had to walk through the smoking area every time we left so that was just gross. Even with the room upgrades, I can see us staying at the villas again.

A friend of mine just returned from a stay, 1 bdrm villa. She said they were beautiful, she was the first one to stay in that refurbed villa. Sent me pics, looked very nice! I wouldn't hesitate yo stay there. I think it's very easy to get from villa section to the Lodge. There's a covered walkway, or just walk around the quiet pool, depending on where your room location is.
One WL stay we had a room ( in lodge) that looked out onto Villa courtyard/pool. I liked that view, so peaceful.

We loved a studio at VWL! I liked the location, etc. A huge plus for us was the pool at the villas. It was never crowded and was just actually an awesome place.
