PCC 4.0 Questions
I thought I would start a thread, for anyone having questions. I know our fellow cruisers will have the answers. I will organize the questions on the second post with the answers for all to see.

Questions
Does anyone know the cost of doing laundry on the ships? - Not sure, but can be charged on room card
Is the laundry room open all the time? - not while in port What type of laundry detergent is available to purchase? - unknown at this time Last edited by Cherinva; 03-26-2012 at 11:36 AM. Reason: new questions and answers |

The only thing I can contribute to the laundry question is the following list of where the rooms are on the Dream.
deck 10 midship - starboard - opposite 10572 deck 9 forward - starboard - opposite 9500 deck 8 aft - port - opposite 8150 deck 7 forward - port - opposite 7014 deck 6 forward - starboard - opposite 6508 deck 5 most aft - - opposite 5192 deck 2 forward - port - opposite 2002 Presumably the Fantasy will have them in the same location. I understand that you can buy detergent, etc with your room key, which is also how you pay for the machines themselves. |

I think you can't use washers while we're at port. Other than that, I thnk laundry rooms are 24hrs.
I don't buy soap at laundry places. I use Purex 3in1 sheets, since they're not much bigger than a dryer sheet. Might try the pre-measured 'pods' that Tide has come out with. Travel sites on internt might have other options, too.

Done that before, too. Packed some powder in a small peanut butter jar. Felt that a screw-top lid is more secure than pop-top.

I do know the the best money I spent on PCC 2.0 was getting my dinner clothes pressed by the laundry service onboard. It was less than $15 (I really think it was less than $10) to press a couple of pairs of pants and 3 tops. I put the things out the first night and had them back for dinner the 2nd night. I will definitely do that again.

I find that I can get all my ironing done leading up to the safety drill - no one else uses the laundry room then and then I can enjoy the rest of the week...

That's a great idea too....but if I know me, I'll be exploring the ship right after lunch before the drill.

I understand shops and the casino (if DCL had one) being closed while in port, but washing machines?
That makes no sense, and I would bet that isn't the case. If they really do close the laundry rooms while the ship is in port, it's a STUPID thing to do!

Tried to use washers once while in port. Probably closed because of regs at port about water waste. Or that the closest I can surmise.

If I need to do any laundry on that trip, it will be at WDW before boarding the ship. I have no need to do laundry on a 7-night cruise.

I'm trying to cut back on the amount of clothing we usually take....DGD always takes too much, and I figured that if I do laundry one night, that would help on the amount...still thinking about it though, not sure I want to waste time doing laundry when there's stuff more interesting to do on the ship.
