Here's today's dilemma!
I've decided (and I use that term loosely, lol!) that I will probably do my own hair, nails and makeup. I'm still considering having it all done for me, but I'm pretty sure I'd like to do the MK photo shoot the day of the wedding. From what I understand, it would be at like 5 or 6 in the am. We're planning to have the ceremony at 2:30. This means I'd most likely need to touch up and refresh myself anyway, so I was thinking why not just do it all myself from the get-go? Thoughts, anyone? Saturday is my dress fitting, and I'm super excited. P is going to be my official photographer, lol! I'm planning to do my hair, shoes and jewelry so I can see if the reality looks like it does in my head!

I am so excited to see another WL bride. We are having our VR there in 2013. It's such a beautiful resort, we are visiting the terrace for the first time this May.
I love your ring! I can't wait to read more about your plans.

![]() You will TOTALLY love it there! It has a breathtaking view. I have a picture somewhere we took on a past trip in the early hours of the am on the last day of our trip (I always have to find some way to delay going home, lol!). I'll see if I can find it. PS~ Do you have a planning journal?

I'm joining in!
Your engagement ring is gorgeous! I think doing the MK photo shoot on the same day will work just fine with your ceremony time. Our BEO lists 6:15 am as the time they pick us up for our two-park photo shoot at the MK and HS.

Episode 2—The Hook
Now, the mission before me was to make the formal proposal special. By formal, I mean the benchmark moment we can recount to our grandkids, friends, DisBoarders, et.al., not a truly stuffy occasion since we are anything but. I had avoided the whole “Parking Lot Proposal” which ranks low on my exceptional memories list, just below “Proposal over Coffee” though well ahead of “Grocery Line Checkout Proposal.” But that avoidance crystallized the fact I had to come up with a memorable plan. My first thoughts naturally revolved around making this a true Disney moment and proposing there. Yet, there was a catch: how to do so secretly? You see, I did wish to make the special moment a surprise. Life is nothing if not full of them, unintended ones and inconsequential ones. They come in heartbreaking sizes and giant, miraculous-sized ones. And sometimes they are life-affirming, meaningful surprises that give us a tether to all that is good. That’s what I was after. A Disney proposal would be tough given that I had painted myself into a timetable corner with the fake arrival date of the ring. Moreover, the cost involved would not be small since we’d both have to take off work in addition to financing an unplanned trip. Finally, Chris most certainly would know something was afoot if I initiated a trip before our planned one in November. Did I mention that LOML quizzed me daily on the status of the ring until I finally gave her a date? The date I gave her? February 24th. Why that date? Well, she wanted to go back to Jared’s to personally check on the status of the ring, and she would not be stopped. Uh, that was not gonna happen seeing as I had the ring in my shorts drawer! So, I grabbed at a date that would serve two purposes: 1) it would happen sooner than we could take a drive back to Jared’s; and, 2) it would soothe LOML in that she could point to a for sure, NLT date. Besides, after a couple of weeks after getting the ring, I had an idea. . .necessity IS the mother of invention. Sure enough, Chris was thrilled when I told her the ring would be ready by the weekend of the 24th, and she immediately planned to the secure the ring on a trip that very weekend. “I knew you’d want to go down to Jared’s after you found out, “ I beamed broadly. Little did she know that I had set the stage for a grand surprise. . . ![]() Coming up: Episode 3—The Sting
