Premier Passport Questions

Hi there, I'm not sure where to post this so please move it if it's not the right place

We are planning a bicoastal trip for next year (1 weeks at DLR and 2 at WDW) and it seems like our best bet in terms of tickets is to purchase the Premier Passport. I understand that this can only be purchased at the ticket booth at DLR or at WDW.

If I were to purchase this pass at the gates of DLR would that still allow me to book a room at WDW using an "AP" discount ahead of time if one is available for when we are travelling? (our trips to the parks are consecutive weeks as we are coming from Australia)

Yes. Actually you could use it for ap discounts at both resorts if you wish. You don't need the ap to book, just the day you check in.

Book over the phone. To book online through the AP site, you need to already have your physical AP card activated, so book through the phone and explain you'll be buying the AP when you arrive.

Have you looked at the ticket prices? A week at DLR and two weeks at WDW would not equal the price of the Premier Passport.

The only way it would is if you add the no expiration option to WDW tickets and I highly doubt you would do this in a fair comparison.

You may want it for AP hotel rates and other discounts, but keep in mind......At DL that does not always mean great savings over public deals. At WDW that means you can't use dining plans or get package discounts.

At DLR staying onsite may not be nearly as helpful as it is in WDW.

We did the math and for the way we travel and what we plan to do the discounts will more than equal the difference in cost for me and DFH. I have been looking at good neighbour hotels for the DLR portion but the discounts on a room plus merch and tours and such at WDW are worth more to us in our current situation

We had the Premier Passports. We too found that the passes more than paid for themselves with the room discount at WDW and the food discounts at WDW and then the food and merchandise and tour (we did the holiday tour) discounts at DL. We actually used a public offer for the accommodation at GCH as it was a better deal than the AP rate at the time.

We had 3 weeks at WDW and 2 weeks at DL though, so two more weeks than you, but if you have done your sums, with the accommodation discount at WDW, the food & merchandise discounts at DL and it adds up, go for it.

At WDW, we paid and got the TIW card and that was a much better deal for us than the dining plan.

You can add pass holder dining plans if you book with the pass holder discount! So you have the option of doing that or buying the TIW card. We have the passport and will get 3 wdw trips out of it and we arrive at Disneyland tomorrow!
