The plus for us with CS is not really waiting for anything. Sometimes with the little people that makes a big difference... But I do want to try so many TS restaurants... I'll wait and see how much extra $$ we have/don't have. I saw somewhere you can upgrade as close to three days before your trip. Just knowing that makes me feel better

When I go to make my net payment, I may just go ahead and change it to a room only package. This way I can go ahead and have the ressie change to January.

I have the same problem with TSs. There are just so many that I want to try, which is why I want to do the DlxDDP.

Technically you have to cancel, and then make a room only res. They are two different departments entirely and will not swap out money. I know this because I am actually out 133 dollars because of it Still frustrated about that...

No, I paid using a rewards card (sign up with Uverse - get a 150 rewards card). So when I cancelled the money should have went to my rewards card. EXCEPT - the card was expired and ATT keeps no accounts oncethe card expires. WDW says ATT has the money, ATT says Disney would still have it Still bummed about it, but I try to tell myself it was free money..

Well I called into Disney reseveration and let's just say I could do this man's job better. I explained that I "might" need to change our currently booked trip to January and had some questions about the specifics about if and when to do that. Honestly, mainly the reason I was calling was to get a more specific date to when they think the 2013 packages would be out. He was like, "oh just calls us 45 days out from your currently booked trip, and change the dates then." I said well that doesn't help me for my 180 day out to make ADRs for the new dates. He said, "oh don't worry, you can make your ADRs then." Then I was like, "but the 180 day out for the January trip would be in June, and by the 45 day out from the November trip, people that booked for January 2012 have already had a lot of time to make their ADRs". Trying to explain that to that man, was like trying to explain the Theory of Relativity to a 2 year old.

Add me to the crazy list. We are going with extended family from January 1 - 11, 2013. We're staying offsite on that trip since we plan to do Seaworld and Busch Gardens too. Just paid the deposit on our townhouse yesterday, so it's official!

I wanted to add a day (or two) to our trip for Universal. If we did that it would have to be to the beginning of the trip, and I don't think DH would agree to dealing with New Years day crowds at Uni. Oh well, I guess I'll go to the WWoHP on another trip.

Thanks! We debated doing Universal instead of WDW in January, but ultimately decided that we will save Universal for a slower time of year. We're already spending a lot of money on our June trip and didn't want to spring for Universal hotels just to have Express Pass. This will be our first visit to Busch Gardens Tampa, though, so we are excited about that.

Extended family sounds fun! We are still considering going off site for a couple days when we go to Universal if there are no discounts (but I am still crossing my fingers for a discount!!)

We haven't been to any other park in FL other than WDW. I would love to spend more time in some of the other parks in the state though. The main reason I want to go to Universal is b/c of my love of Harry Potter.

I hope that you get a good discount for Universal and we all get a good one for WDW.

I started getting into a more serious WDW planning mode. I remade the spending money Excel spreadsheet. Then I joined Touring Plans and downloaded the app they have for the iPhone. Now I just need to start on the first of many ADR and park schedules.

Now for the question. We are planning on getting the DlxDDP. With that in mind, do y'all think getting a combined birthday cake for our DS (and myself) would be too much with all the food on the DlxDDP? If we were to get one, I already have an idea for it. Our youngest DS loves legos and I love Mickey Mouse and I was thinking that a Lego Mickey Mouse cake would be great. Then the colors would be purple (his favorite color) and green (my favorite color). I just hate paying the price I know I would have to pay for it, if we barely ate any of it b/c we were so full b/c of the DlxDDP.

I love HP too. When I get sad that the books are done I just remember that it is there whenever I need a fix...

As far as the cake I would probably not do it. We're doing my bday and dd's bday while we are there (hers is today - 13 - OMG) and I think with all the other excitement we will probably skip the cake. With the qsdp or ddp we will end up having dessert all the time anyway so we won't really be in the mood for cake on top of it.

My January baby just turned 13 as well. You made me feel better about not getting a cake for him. Besides, I'll make sure to note on all our ADRs about his birthday (not sure if I will about mine) and they might throw a candle in his desserts. I was just feeling guilty about not getting him an actual cake. The one my sil and mil got for my birthday this year was AMAZING!! Best cake ever!! It was from a place called Nothing Bundt Cake. They have locations in other state. It was a red velvet, and amazing, awesome, better than..... well you know.

We are going from Jan 7-15 I'm so excited we will be in WDW for my birthday

This will be my kiddos first trip and I can't wait. We just started doing Disney nights to get the kids excited and more familiar with some of the movies/characters. http://www.disboards.com/showthread....707141&page=99 (mine is the picture heavy 4 disney night recap if you wanted to check it out)

However we have decided not to tell the kids about the trip until Christmas day. We are going to wrap balloons, WDW t-shirts and other fun things in a box and let them open it on Christmas morning. Our trip cant come soon enough for me!!!!

I'm glad you came over!! First trips are so much fun!! Our DSs went on there first WDW trip when they were 5 & 6, but I would have taken them much sooner if it were up to me. Every trip with your kids is special, but nothing tops the first one.

I'm going to have to look through that thread more. Your pics are great!! The kids are super cutie patooties!! From those pics, I bet you are the mom all the teachers want in their room with those super cute edibles.

We are keeping our trip a secret as well. We just can't decide on exactly how to tell them.
