YUP! Interesting thing is that I made FW reservations for Wed. to Tues. for Marathon Weekend next year instead of the usual Thurs. to Monday that I have been doing.

Last night Kathy registered me for the IM 70.3 in Haines City in May. Guess I'm really hooked. Road 36 miles and jogged 4.3 miles today with swimming tomorrow.

You're amazing! I hope to have half of your endurance and energy at some point in time....
I have a long run tomorrow.

See ya there!

I'm into the "one long brick a week" stage of training. 7 weeks out and I have not swam hardly at all. Bleh. But what the heck. I doubt my swim can get any slower...........

Also on the calendar: Mount Dora 1/2M (off road) in June. That's probably the last "real" race till fall. Then ToT, W&D, Space Coast, Marathon weekend 10K + 1/2M (& that may be it for Disney races. The price point is getting pretty unreasonable, IMHO). Celebration 1/2 in Jan '14. Melbourne 1/2. Then I will have to get another job to replenish the "Pay to sweat Excessively" account

Why Thank You!!

Yes, you will note I am very "Central Florida-centric" in my events. it comes from being an underpaid, under-appreciated public servant without much travel time built into his life. (mild rant there...........sorry )

John and Jim you guys are something else... I'm not sure what! Exercise robots?!?! Intense, amazing and as Amanda said quite simply inspiring. Just try to keep as fit and healthy as you can! Also John, thanks for the song! I sang it

Amanda brilliant that you're feeling the benefit of boot camp already! I do often think that I need to schedule more weight/resistance work and am very impressed you're doing it! Looking forward to seeing your decision about Dopey too. Gutted I won't' get to see you at a fall race, but Hawaii is a good enough reason I guess

me metafit class on Monday. I can only go on bank holidays and this class makes me hurt like no other (in a good way!). This morning was the first morning i could sit up to get out of bed rather than roll out Running slowly building up, foot doesn't feel right but I'm getting used to the idea that this may just be how it is now. Tempted to get it scanned to check all really is OK, but I'm sure it would've showed on x-ray if now.
Side note: I really need to work on stomach strength though.... half of the abs workouts put too much strain on my back I'm so weak!!! Any tips?

Kate - I'm still trying to find a way for me to hop down to Disney for W&D. I haven't completely given up hope yet. Sorry your foot isn't feeling great.

I have resisted the pull of the Dopey. Too many injury training for the Goofy. My focus for 2013 (and early 2014 ) is working on speed. I have convinced my DH to run the 10k with me on Friday and then I'll run the Full Marathon on Sunday with the hope of setting a PR.

Hi all, It been a while again since I've posted in. It sounds like people are doing fairly well even if posting has been sporadic

John - Good luck in training for the Dopey.

Amanda - Good luck in training for the 10K and Marathon and getting your Husband to do the 10K.

AFM - Went to the Dr. last Friday for my normal checkup and in general not great news (I knew most of it before going to in). My weight was way up from 6 months ago and my Cholesterol was up. My blood pressure was OK though. I ended up getting an injection in one knee to help with it. He put me on Cholesterol Medication in addition to the Fish oil I'm taking. And I'm on a diet pill temporarily to see if I can get things kickstarted back in the other direction. In Ohio, legally he can only prescribe it for no more than 3 month before taking 6 months off. So temporary is temporary.

On the positive front, I've run or walked twice this week and I've been biking twice. It's an old cheap Walmart bike I had that a friend of mine fixed up as best he could but It's enough to get started. Even just getting the injection in one knee I can feel the difference although I can tell the difference between the two. Hopefully I can continue to getting back on track. I've seen some good weight loss this week.

Hey there Warriors. It's been awhile! I've been enjoying keeping up with what everyone has been doing, but I've had nothing to share, myself.

We're going to change that. My baby Quinn-cess started walking this week, so I no longer have the "I just had a baby!" excuse going for me anymore. LOL!

After a few days of long Facebook conversations with another WISHer who has always been my "bad influence" (Kirsty_Leigh, who has also been MIA for a long while), we both decided to make another bad decision. Oh yeah, I have 8 months to get myself Dopey-ready. I haven't run seriously since the 2011 DL half marathon, but I've kept in pretty good shape with lots of fitness classes and just plain walking a lot with a baby on my back, so I'm hoping it won't be too hard to get back into running shape.

So, this week I did 3 miles on Tuesday and Thursday (at about a 13 minute mile) and a nice slow 10 mile bike ride (with two kids on the bike in front and back seats!) on Wednesday. Looking forward to a 4 mile "long run" tomorrow. The plan is to keep it relatively slow for the next couple months, and then start Galloway's beginner Goofy training plan in late June/early July. Oh baby.

Good to be back! I'm looking forward to having some serious miles to report!

Jeremy - Glad to hear that you're getting yourself started again. Sorry to hear that you're suffering some medical issues.
Sarah - Wow! Dopey!!! Good for you!

I PR'ed my half marathon last weekend with a 2:25:32 finish. I've been so consumed by the terrible events in Boston that I set my own race aside to try to understand what happened. At any rate I'm quite pleased with my performance and starting to train for a 10k in June.

Nice to "read" from everybody. Sure doesn't sound right but does read right.

Amanda-well done.

Sarah_Rose-glad you're back on the wagon. It's a good thing.

Jeremy-Again, slow and easy should take care of your ill's. Stay positive.

Kate-beating myself up exercising is not an option for me so do one extra routine for me.

Jim-4 weeks and it's another one for the books.

AFM, I went to a highly recommended Ortho for right shoulder. He looked at MRI and then said that mild, moderated and severe are words used to indicate joint degradation. Mine is beyond severe and total replacement is the only solution. I'll stay with original equipment for some time to come. Training for IM 70.3 FL continues and a new bike is to arrive this week that will hopefully improve my cycling portion. At least Kathy has stopped bugging me about getting a new bike.

Stay well and safe.

Happy Thursday Warriors!!

Not much goings on here in (Now Warm) NE Florida. Mostly just getting ready (sort of) for the Florida 70.3 in a shortshortshortSHORT 24 days!!!

My left shoulder has been pretty gimpy lately with some odd sensations at certain ranges of motion. Thusly, my swimming has been virtually non-existent lately. I DID do a 55 minute open water swim at Castaway Cay last week which, surprisingly, seemed to go pretty well. It was in salt water, which made it a bit easier, but I just concentrated on being relaxed and not worrying about the steroid-laden studmuffins that will be passing me. Hopefully in the pool tomorrow.

Did a 58 mile ride +4 mile run Sunday & a 23 mile ride +7 mile run yesterday. Cut the run short due to a lack of fluids, but it felt ok.

Due to upcoming events, my training is basically over the middle of next week, so one more LONG bike + slamming a long run in after and that's it.

Aaaaaaand hopefully, I don't drown.

John - Hope to see you there! Take care of the shoulder. New parts are expensive! I'm in the midst of getting acquainted with a new back doctor over in G'ville. New MRI and a 2nd consult in a couple of weeks. Hopefully decent news will follow.

Alarm is going off!! Gotta go on a call! Will check back later. Rock on!

Wow I haven't checked in for awhile! A quick trip to Florida (April 13-21 driving 2 days on each end) played some havoc with my last long run but I'll deal. I have a 5 miler this weekend and then it's taper time for the Indy Mini in 1 week.

I just saw the new race added for Princess next year and am sad I can't do it (or at least probably can't as I've promised to do CMM with my original running buddies next year and i don't like the turn around time.) However, if next weekend goes well who knows? LOL

I hope you all have great runs (and other training) this next week!

Hi all.

Sarah - What are you thinking? Just Kidding, just don't try and do it while pregnant again.

Amanda - Congratulations on the PR.

John - Sorry to hear about the diagnosis on the shoulder. But enjoy the new bike. If I continue with the biking I may be in the market for a new one myself. My current one is a cheap Walmart Special.

JimB - Not drowning would be a good thing.

Pam - Good luck on the 5 miler.

Me - Things are continuing to go OK. I got out running 2 times last week It's still 3 miles total. 1/2 mile warmup followed by 2-2.25 miles of run 15 sec/walk 1 minute. But at least I'm getting out there. I've also been continuing my biking although I missed Sunday because of rain.

Today I got an e-mail from Rock n Roll Cleveland. They are postponing the race by one day from Saturday to Sunday. Because of the change in day they are allowing people to switch to another RnR event or get their money back if they couldn't do the new date. Since I'm going but not progressing at a pace where I think I'd be ready for the race, I took the option of getting my money back. So, I now officially have no races on the schedule (although there's a couple I might decide to do last minute), I don't need to worry about trying to push to much to soon .
