Do you know where at Disneyland? I have a friend that will be there and can pick one up for me if I can point them in the right direction.
Thanks for your help!

I saw it at WOD 2 Saturdays ago. It was near regular purses/luggage, not locked up in the cases with the new styles by fine jewelry & watches.

Does anyone know if you can purchase the new bags that are coming in July somewhere other than the parks? Does anyone have any idea how much the backpack will be? I really like how the backpack looks on the website.

I like the backpack, too. The Dooney & Bourke website has a solid color nylon backpack for $195. Hopefully, the Disney one won't be too much more than that.

If you do get one I'd love to see pictures. Quote:

I'm betting the Disney backpack will be at least $20 more than the plain one on the Dooney site. No inside info though, just a guess. I love the leather tote! Again, love to see pictures here.

I was hoping someone that went to the event at Disneyland for the Dooney release could give me sone info on how they felt it went? I'm thinking about taking a special trip with my daughter just for the WDW event. We have actual vacation planned for the following week, but we both love Disney Dooneys and thought it would be special. We would only stay one night just for the release. I am trying to find any reviews on what it was like but cant find anything.

So many choices . . .
Ohhh, can you say cha-ching!
I already have 2 DLR and WDW retro bags on my wish list, and I love the backpack and the under-the-arm nylon sketch style pictured above right of the backpack (what is it called?). Sheila, have you noticed any "tighter" patterns in the DLR retros--probably too soon, if ever? Having bought the original sketches with some bad wristlet placements (Cindy's shoe and starburst on front??), I am trying to holdout in hopes of tighter design! But, my weekender came with really nice placement! I have to learn how to upload pics here--just too impatient to set up one more online account-lol!

In the first picture (the one with the black backdrop), what is that small sketch bag? Looks like a camera bag or cell phone bag?

I attended both the DL55 release and the Retro release (a Harveys release too, but I guess that's OT)
Disclaimer: I didn't get there early enough for the pre-opening line, so my info on that part is second hand, but I did talk to someone who was there and I have no reason to doubt what she told me. They announced the line location (on the outskirts of Downtown Disney) and said no one would be allowed to line up before 6am for the 8am opening. The line actually did start early, so security came over and said it was too early to line up, but they didn't make anyone leave. Around the official line-up time someone from merchandising showed up to supervise. He walked back and forth to make sure no one was in the wrong place and then at some point he escorted the line down to wait in front of the store. People were let in to shop a few at a time, which is a good thing because Vault 28 is not very big! Once you made a qualifying purchase you were given your GWP item right then (a yellow sketch credit card holder) You were also given a numbered voucher that secured your spot in line for the signing. The line for the signing began at 1pm and you were officially limited to 2 items per person. I do know some people had more than that signed though. I didn't go back to get my items signed, so again my info is second hand, but I understand it was all very orderly. Note on the GWP: the GWP item at the DL55 event was better (a matching cosmetic bag) but the distribution process at the Retro event was much better. At the DL55 event you had to come back in the afternoon to get your GWP, even if you didn't want anything signed. Another GWP note: you needed to make a purchase of $100 or more (not hard with D&B items) and it was one gift per person. I saw one lady pitching a royal hissy fit because she thought she deserved 3 gifts since she spent over $300. I didn't stick around to see how that turned out but she was getting pretty loud and ugly. I honestly hope they didn't give in to her. The terms were very clear on everything I read. At the DL55 event many people lined up really early just to get in the store and make their purchases, then they got right back in line for the signing. I bet some people spent the better part of their day standing in lines at that event. This one was sooo much better! |

So, it looks like they have made some changes to the sketch print. Looks like the heart next to the mickey ears is now red instead of green, the Mickey Bar is now all dark brown instead of just the outline, and the WDW/DL banner under Mickey is green while the one under the castle remains red, they added Chip and Dale, and some musical notes.
Anyone notice any other changes ? I really like the WDW retro print, but not wild about the bags themselves. Would love to see something like a Lucy style bag. Something mid to large to get enough of the print in, but with a zipper. Picky little bugger, aren't I ?? I do love the additional styles in the sketch print though ! Not to mention I really want the leather cross body.

Love the looks of the backpack - wonder if it's big enough to fit a laptop? I just purchased the largest 40th edition to use but I could always use another - especially if it lighter weight!
The WDW retro case is definitely on my must have list - hopefully they will have all of these bags available for our next trip in Ocotber Now just wish they would add a wallet to one of these patterns
