Best resorts near Universal

I thought I had read somewhere that there are not really any resorts close to Universal..more toward Disney?

All the on sites are booked for my trip..My daughter was sick(going on 3.5 weeks now) so we weren't sure we could go. I had a place but had to let it go so the owner could rent to someone else...just in case things didn't look up for my daughter. But finally she seems to be feeling a little better

So I have to find last minute accommodations again..story of my life.

Anyhow I could most likely find something to rent in the paradise palms, windsor hills areas. ..maybe even Reunion last minute.

I am looking for a great pool since we will get to have some downtime now that we cut disney out of our trip.

Kids are 17,12 and 9 for reference.
TIA

if i stayed off site, i would book Drury Inn and Suites.

it has a lot to offer.

discounts on room if you have AAA

it is not walking distance but has free shuttles

@Damo..I think I mean a resorty feel. Nice pool ...Kitchen would be great

@Bluer...I haven't been able to find 2 queens..they have the big expensive rooms left.. and most of them are Kings and only allow 3.

I keep checking and so far on cheap tickets I found two nights at Portofino for $658. I can get 2 day plus 1 Universal tickets using Undercover tourist for $874 for the five of us.

But I would have to find another place to stay... and then I would do Universal toward the end of my trip because I don't want a night wasted on a drive.
