DW has two foreign places on her bucket list... Ireland and Egypt. We aren't planning either of them in the real near future, but if we were Ireland would definitely be first.
I would love to go to Egypt, just need a little more time before I would feel comfortable there!

Egypt has always been a place DH and I want to visit.
We were seriously thinking on going but decided against it for right now. I agree with the others-I don't want to vacation somewhere where I need an armed guard.

The U.S. State Department has issued a Travel Alert for Egypt, meaning that there are conditions which pose significant risks to the security of U.S. citizens. When the violence began earlier this year, it was a Travel Warning.
I would not travel to a country that the State Dept deems unsafe for U.S. citizens... |

The armed guards don't bother me and theyve had armed guards accompanying tourist groups for years. But I am not considering going at least until they've had their elections.
I had the December ABD booked and cancelled it.

I would probably go. But then again I know a woman who runs a small boarding house who was married to an egyptian and has lived there for 30 years. If she says it is safe then I would go and stay with her.
