seas days--12 and 16 yr olds--what did they do?

please post what your 12-16 yr olds did on sea days (particular favorite activities, if you recall, would be great--like animation drawing class, etc.). I will have a 12 yr olds and a 16 yr old DD. We will be on Eastern Carib. for Spring break--so assume a crowded ship. Also, if you were on a packed ship--please indicate if there were events/classes that they could not do b/c there was no space. Tx. Elaine

Never had a problem of not enough space at these ages.

What is fun--video scavenger hunt, make a movie/commercial. Just hanging out with friends, some crafts. Oh, and if there are any adult programming lecturers that give a special lecture for the teens (we've had this on a couple trips)...they were rated as "b...o...r...i...n...g."

My almost 13 yr old boy loved the Edge!!! He made lots of friends and we could not get him out of there. We went when most kids were in school. I think that worked for us because the kids became such good friends. They have even stared a facebook page since returning. The counselors were great. My son had around 10 boys to hang with that he clicked with. Have your 16 try going together. They might like it more.

Honestly.....And i know some disagree....
We barley see our kids on sea days.

They have always loved being in the clubs and hanging with their "friends" they make them so quickly.

We always pick one thing to do on a sea day together IF that is dinner then that counts. Sometimes they dont come to dinner. I require them to come on 2 picture taking nights could be pirate night or a dress up night.

We have done some game show type things with them they enjoy those and we have done golfing and sometimes we just do shuffle board (when else can you play shuffle board)

Even on our Repo cruise where we had 7 or 8 sea days I hardly ever saw my daughters who were close to that age.
They hung out at their clubs, saw movies, went swiming etc- and this was on the Magic. On the Dream 5 day in June the Aquaduck kept them pretty busy too.
My daughter said last night just drinking Coke in the cabin watching movies was fun for her.

My kids were 12, 15 and 18 on our cruise last summer. On our sea day, they hung out in the teen/tween clubs, went to movies, got a pedicure (the girls) and rode the Aquaduck over and over. Oh we browsed around the shops onboard as well. It was a fun, relaxing day (and much cooler than our days outside at Nassau and Castaway Cay lol).

THEY ordered room service everyday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

at first i didnt know and then when i realized i asked if they were giving a tip each time and they were sooooooo embarassed that they had not so we over tipped the room service from then til the end of our cruise

At 13 we barely saw our son unless it was at dinner (our one meal together every day...). We did the 2010 WBTA and had a riot! The kids make friends so fast he going from the time he got up until the club closed! He said the sea days were great as the kids all hung out together.

The one lecture/event he did and loved was meeting Ducky Don! Nothing else interested him...

We saw our boys (13 & 15) at breakfast and dinner on our sea day and that was about it. They were in the teen club the whole day. We saw them in passing as they took part in the scavenger hunt but that was about it. They are so looking forward to our April cruise!

Sea Days have full schedules for the tweens and teens programming. Be sure your kids go to their particular clubs on the first day as they get some say-so into what activities are scheduled for the week on which days - so it varies from week to week. In addition to the activities scheduled with the youth programs, there are movies, trivia, sleeping in late with no one telling you to get up because we have an early excursion....

My 15 yr old daughter was in the teen club as much as possible -she loved it, made so many friends -they went hot tubbing, swimming, did the scav hunts, etc.... She would roll into bed around 1am-2am every night when the club closed! lol

My son who is 16 now LOVES the teen club. They are always doing something or have something planned. He eats dinner with us but other than that he is meeting new friends and enjoying the events at the club. They are open late for the teens so be prepared for your DD to be TIRED!!! Have Fun!

my son was 12 on our trip last year. His favorite things were sleeping late, special parties - pirate night, dessert buffet, towel folding, animation, movies, and turning the tv to watch from the verandah while eating room service or playing cards.
