Well, I think that it is about time to start a thread for this sailing. Who is going? I sure would love to see some of the folks who sailed with us on the Oct 23, 2010, Magic cruise. Such a great group of folks!!!!

Hello, Everyone.

THE CUT OFF DATE TO JOIN THE FE GIFT EXCHANGE WILL BE SEPTEMBER 5, 2012. NO EXCEPTIONS.


Folks are very interested in starting the Fish Extender Exchange going. The reason that I hesitate to start yet is because this cruise is still quite a few months away and folks are always joining right up until the last month. The other reason is that a lot of folks don’t have cabin numbers yet. Some won’t know their cabin numbers until about two weeks out.
We had a cut-off date to participate in the FE the last time at about August 1st. We had a VERY large group. Because the group was so large I ended up dividing the exchange up into three groups. Even with the cut-off, folks were still wishing to join. Caused a little confusion at the time, but it all worked out.

Now there are several ways this can be done. The simplest would be to just give everyone who wish to participate, a list of all the names of other participate and let folk just folks buy for everyone. But, as you can imagine that could become very costly.

What I did last time was to divide everyone up into three groups. I put all those with similar ages/and number of guests into separate groups. Amazingly enough, the number of participates in each group was almost exactly the same. The selection process was completely random. However, at the moment, we may not need to do that because there are so few folks interested in the FE. We may just need only one group.

But regardless of how many groups we have, what I would like to do this time is schedule delivery dates for everyone, so that if possible, everyone can receive a gift to their cabin everyday.

I send the list to those who are participating via personal message as some folks like to keep their cabin information private.

So, to those who want to participate, please be sure to provide me with cabin numbers participating and the individuals in the cabin, children ages and gender, and whether you are part of a group and wish to remain linked.

I still feel that it is too early to begin, but, it is never too early to start shopping for/making your gifts, based on the information that is already posted for the FE exchange.

Hi, well at least for now. My wife and I are booked on this cruise for at least well the next week. If a Hawaii cruise is announced next week, we will be moving this reservation to one of those, but as of now we are on this cruise. My name is Alan. I will be 37 at the time of sailing. I will be honest, I am really not looking forward to the ship, I think it is just a little to big for my taste, but it is the only cruise that we can book for our 12th wedding aniversary.

I am with you about the size of the ship. I love the Wonder and think that is a nice size. I have had my doubts about the Dream and the Fantasy. Glad I am not the only one.

If they do not do Hawaii then the chances of us being on this cruise goes up. We are just waiting to see what the rest of 2012 holds. Right now it is just the two of us. This cruise leaves on our anniversary. I think that's it.

Oh, I am so hoping to do WDW before the cruise. That was the original plan. Stay at the BCR like we did for our honeymoon and then off for a fabulous cruise.

Now, with all of the extras folks, logistically, I don't know if we will be able to to now.

That might make it tough. It may be hard to do Food and Wine if they do Hawaii. I would have to figure out how to spread out my four weeks vacation, as I want to either take a MR for my birthday in March or try to get one of the DVC club level rooms at Animal Kingdom Lodge for a week.
