We've had issues at 1900 and the Grand Floridian Cafe so I think they really needed TJ. When I ate at GFC they had no allergy safe desserts. At all. No divvies, french meadow, nothing! They were very lazy with the meal prep and steamed all the veggies together so if you are allergic to one you can't have any so I was stuck with fries. They didn't even have any salad greens that hadn't been premixed. The subbed and gave me a tiny kids sirloin instead of the NY strip I ordered. If they had told me they couldn't do the regular steak plus no veggie and no dessert we would have just eaten QS instead
At 1900 they were too laid back about telling me things were safe that I clearly knew weren't so I felt like I couldn't trust them. I was fine but ate only plain baked chicken, steamed broccoli, and plain noodles all off the kids buffet and again no desserts. I can't understand why every other resort keeps plenty of packaged allergy safe stuff and GF doesn't.

We order them by the case at home. Yes, they're DELICIOUS!! DD12 was so excited to see it when the chef brought it out that she literally snatched it from his hand. The chef was shocked and then laughed. He brought her out another two as well as the second half of the one he used for DD10's sundae. I know you likely can't tell from the picture, but the little bits on the sundae at Coral Reef is shavings from one of the EL chocolate bars. There are also some squares as well as brownie triangles in that sundae. Both girls were VERY happy with those desserts. We also got one as DD12's dessert option at Sunshine Seasons both times we went there.

Thanks so much for the reviews! One of my son's favorite treats are the Enjoy Life chocolate bars, so it's nice to know they are available. Did you say that rice milk is readily available? My ds can have soy, but prefers rice milk (likes soy yogurt and soy ice cream though...go figure). Also, do you happen to know if soy yogurt is available?

We got rice milk at several TS locations, resort CS locations and if I remember correctly they also got some for us from either room service or the Poly club lounge (I don't remember which though). My food list from last August says that it was also available at Sunshine Seasons in Epcot and Main Street Bakery in Magic Kingdom but you'll want to confirm with Special Diets.
The only soy yogurt we've seen was one time when Chef Dan at Pop went to a food show when we were guests and he picked some up to see if we'd like it. I think I may have heard that they get it in more regularly now but I can't remember for sure since my kids don't really like the texture of yogurt.

Thanks! We are staying at ASMuFS, so we are going to order some groceries. I plan to order soy yogurt to keep in our room, so getting it in the park shouldn't be an issue. I'm glad there is rice milk around though. I know the ice cream place on Main Street serves rice dream ice cream too, and I just read about an allergy friendly bakery in DDT.

We're dining at GF twice (once for 1900 Park breakfast and once for the Afternoon Tea) is there any point in trying to get in touch with them ahead of time so I can make sure that I have something to eat, or is it just better there to be vigilant for yourself?

I would definitely contact Special Diets so the chefs can have a heads up that you're coming. Definitely do your homework ahead of time to know which of the packaged products are safe but I don't think you need to specifically contact anywhere in particular ahead of time. If you have specific questions then definitely ask them but I don't think it's necessary to say "please have the chef at xyz contact me".

I have a ton of food allergies and get very anxious when eating anything new.
I just wanted to second the concern of the Chef's knowledge at Tusker House. I have had reactions the last two times eating there. I was also told things were safe at 1900 Park Fair Dinner when I knew they were not. Hollywood and Vine Chef also try to tell me things were safe when they were not.

First time to DW w/multiple food allergies
I have 2 weeks to left to plan for our trip to Disney World with my two sons allergic to Gluten, Dairy, Egg and Peanut. We have never eaten in a restaurant. Do I need to make reservations every where we go? How can I pick which restaurants to go to? Thanks.

Thanks for posting your reviews!!!! We just got back from our GF/CF journey through the World, and I wouldn't have been so relaxed about everything had I not spoken with you first!!!
My DD LOVED the EnerG chocolate bars, but the only place that I could find them was in Epcot at the CS near Soarin'. I never did find the place in DTD, and I am very sad that I wasn't able to allow my DD the ability to get whatever in that place! As we all know that barely ever happens for a GF/CF child! Thanks for posting, it's very appreciated!!
