"Only Heaven Is Better than Disney World": Live TR 8/24 - The DIS Discussion Forums

After much anticipation, my fiancé and I finally left this morning for six nights, seven days at the Polynesian Resort in Disney World. Our flight was at 7am, so we woke up at 3:30 to get ready and be out the door by 5. We arrived at the airport by 5:30, and got through security fairly quickly despite my fiancé getting pulled aside for extra screening--his first time, since this is only his third time flying despite being in his thirties!

Everyone must have been as anxious to see Mickey as we were, because the plane was completely boarded by 6:40, and we were already in the air by 7:00, our scheduled departure time.

We have the most adorable little kid sitting behind us...adorable in personality that is; I never actually noticed what she looked like. However, shortly after takeoff, I definitely took notice when I heard this adorable exchange between her and her "nana."

Little girl: "Did you know Disney World's on a cloud?"

Nana: "It is?"

Little girl: "Yeah, Disney World is up in the sky."

Nana: "Like Heaven?"

Little girl: "Yes, only Heaven is better than Disney World."

My fiancé and I turned and smiled at each other after hearing this, hoping our kids will be so cute.

Shortly after, we flew above the clouds, and the cloud covering is truly amazing today. I have a picture below, but it was even more awesome earlier in the flight (when electronics weren't allowed out yet, so no pic.) In fact, the clouds were so beautiful that they just looked like fields and fields of snow. This prompted the little girl to say, "That's where the penguins live."

That's all for now! Wish me luck with the rest of our flight. (Side note: isn't it amazing that we can post from an airplane!? I never dreamed this would be possible when I was a little kid.) I will hopefully be updating later today with pics from the resort and DHS, if I am not horribly exhausted tonight.

Only heaven and disney world itself are better than live TR's.. i'm in. have a nice flight and a great vacation.

Do you have a long drive? We will be there until Monday, so looks like you'll be getting there as ours is ending! Good luck on your drive...we have only 45 min. or so left on our flight!

The AAA triptik says 14 1/2 hours. We've actually done the drive a couple times before, and it takes us about 15 hours. Really not bad - the kids are packing up their "road trip" boxes today

We're going to leave really early (like 4am) and hope to be at the resort by around 8pm Sat evening. We're starting out at POR, and will move to the Poly on Tuesday, the 31st. So, maybe we'll get your room!!

I can't wait! We are beginning our descent, so I'll have to turn my iPhone off in a minute. Good luck on your drive and here's hoping you get some pixie dust! I know I am hoping for an upgrade

Your cloud pic is SO cool. I love the view from an airplane window but that's about all I like about flying ... I'm a big chicken and I think flying is scary!

I can't wait until you get to WDW and check into the Poly! That's are favorite resort and we are super excited about checking in ourselves in about 7 weeks!

We arrived about five-ten minutes early, and headed to what I like to call the "fake monorail."

We walked over as fast as our legs could carry us to....

Amazingly, we only waited two minutes before they started loading the bus.*

They just told us the Polynesian is the first stop, and now the video is playing.

Poly here we come!!!!!! :D
